Been stretching my shins and calves as well as dexercising while waiting between classes and other random times.

2 hour session today, felt really good. The other day I bought toe insoles for the balls of the foot and today was first session using them, they felt like they helped a ton. It forces me to focus on staying on my toes more, which means faster responses on my toes and less pressure now that I have these insoles.

Worked on pixie set and stepping set a ton, huge improvements! pixie is still getting more consistent, able to run the drills pixie set back and forth on my toes now. Going to be continuing this for a while until it feels really solid. I also drilled Stepping ss clipper on both sides and felt lots of improvements from the beginning of this session through to the end. When first trying stepping flipside, it felt really ugly, kept hitting inside of my knee and was pretty low when it did set, but after some work got it up to waist level and able to follow up with clipper same side.

ducking/diving both sides has shown improvements too, did alot of weaving and diving in strings, as well as zulu I believe, diving op clipper.

Need to work on drifters and DLO's in the near future.
I would like to go to the Pittsburgh jam coming up the 14th but bus/train tickets are pretty damn expensive, might have to hope on selling a couple bags. We'll see.
More updates soon.

I played a little bit of footbag saturday. second round into circle shredding I hurt my right ankle. Iced it immediately, kept swelling down. I'm guessing two weeks before I try to do anything non-essential on it

My ankle is surprisingly much better, after injuring it only 5 or so days ago. I am not going to start recreational stuff on it for at least 5 or 6 more days, but it's promising.

I've been watching mad videos and have been more excited than ever to kick  Dave Clavens gave me a couple pointers before I managed to injure myself, so I'm going to work on them and try to critique my game when I get back into it.

School is going great, doing well in all my classes. Not going to be fun taking calc II over the summer but it must happen.

ankle's still a bit swollen. sucks.

some kids were playing hacky 4 square outside a dorm this evening, so I jumped in and won in a few rounds, was hella fun. Going to have to start more of that on campus! Was able to run 2 miles at the gym but going to take it easy til these blades chillax on the swelling.
making more bags
Hope to play soon :(

Had a session yesterday for about an hour. Worked on butters, stepping and pixie sets, ducking, double legovers and over-all consistency. Felt great to be able to play.

Then today swam 10 laps, went on 15 mile bike ride in the middle of which I shred in Rittehouse Square in center city. There were some people juggling nearby so I messed around with that for a little, got some good pointers on juggling! Started to juggle for a couple contacts on my feet and they immediately asked if I know Peter Irish :P

Anyway, felt amzing to play outside in a park! Got some cool reactions from people and played better than I was expecting to ater being out of the loop for 3 weeks :D

Also received 3 new fabric colors in the mail yesterday, going to tie them into some patterns!

I played some footbag with Bob Riefer today. It went well.

Took mygame up tot he next level, or so it felt. Past few weeks I've been drilling pixie and stepping sets both sides and ducks/dives. Was able to tie it all in together today. Played better than I ever have before, or feels like that.

Bob is getting ridiculous. Great bothsidedness and he keeps hitting new tricks with good variety.

pixie drifter was cool for me.

had a long string, 20+ contacts, starting with whirl<drifter<whirl<drifter -had some ducks and pixie/stepping stuff but I forget most of it...

Some more bags made, hyped for Boston Jam!

thanks for the props drew, that was a super fun session.

kind of zen advice:
keep doing what you've been doing when you practice (because it's CLEARLY working.. great shred), let the session energy help you figure out when to ramp to the next level. blah blah blah, we talked about this out loud, you know what I mean

nice, go drew!

make sure you keep that osis > stepping clean.. don't slur that shit

your "<" should be ">" when describing combos or jobs notation, but you can be different if you want to ha ha

how'd that dlo feel? was it like i described?

dude.. focus on your drifters.. i'm telling you there's a lot of potential for the way you do dexes to be a really good drifter guy

continue to be careful with whirl components.. really make sure you're conscious of getting the dex through and not injuring your ankle again. don't take that trick for granted, so many people get hurt on whirls.

Yeah I definitely know what you mean, I plan out when I want to hit whirls and have been pretty careful about them.

I've been schooling drifters too! actually I have been working on them as much, if not more, than everything else. Worked on last night hitting drifters out of combos I haven't before, osis, in between ducking/diving combos, before/after spins too. Oh, I hit flip spinning clipper for first time last night too!

edit: the DLO was A TON easier from clipper sets! I had trouble first few attempts but got myself to muscle through and pull it off. Hit it midstring a couple times, felt pretty smooth-going to work on them alot now on.

kicked in rittenhouse square yesterday afternoon for about an hour. Some kids joined in kicking, I shred' a bit, mainly did longer tiltless strings with spins, ducks and dives added in. Was really fun! Still making bags for beantown jam, can't wait, less than a week away!

I just got done shredding for about an hour, maybe a little longer. Was working mostly on single components, each of the following: ducking/diving clippers & ducking/diving incorporated in other tricks, spinning both sides, pixie set bs, stepping set bs (was pretty solid tonight!), DLO clipper set bs, drifter bs, toe whirl bs.

hit couple new stuff like ducking pickup and ducking legover both sides. Pretty rad. Ducking whirl is within range I believe, and spinning whirl not too far off either. I've the timing down for the, but I think I'm going to give them more time before I put much effort into them, they'll come to me when ready.

Got a text from Tom today saying he hit ducking clipper < spinning clipper < pdx flail in Loafers. What the hell man? If you can do that in loafers, put some Lavers back on and we'll see what you can really do! Really going to have to force him to kick when the weather is undeniably beautiful and perfect for shred.

Pumped for this weekend, going to swim more this week and probably not kick again until I'm in Boston.

I've been swimming more often these days than I used to, freestyle stroke is solid now, taught myself flip turns pretty easily with a few pointers from friends. Now on to teaching myself butterfly and breast stroke, which are going to be a little more time consuming, but definitely worth it.

Classes this semester are going great, expecting to get Dean's list. I'm going to be taking summer classes, kinda sucks, but gets me ahead in the program.

Boston Jam was great! I've been busy with class work that I wasn't able to do over the weekend so I haven't been able to write up about my weekend, hope to later this week. Won inter. sick 1, hit both pixie drifter and pixie whirl. First time ever hitting pixie whirl cleanly... Felt like I didn't play too well, helped judge and it takes a while for me to warm up, so when I began to get warmed up I've have to go chill at the table-but it was fun :o

Kicked with Tom Stepek yesterday on Kelly Drive and then in the gym on campus.

Worked on stepping and pixie sets, flipside spinning and ducks/dives. I want to concentrate on longer strings for a little bit, increasing my string endurance with easier tricks should help with the harder tricks when I tie them in, I hope.
