Roomates for Worlds, Oakland

Post by CPO » 24 Feb 2010 16:51

This tread is to have players talk and find roommates to share rooms at Worlds.

Room are $99 per night with 4 persons per room. There for with 3 roommates your rate is less than $25 per night.

Go to www.footbag.org for link to Hotel reservations.

Talk back and forth to set up your sleeping arrangements and cheapen your stay.

Is anyone up to looking up any rental houses or apartments?

Hey Benny!

I guess rental houses will not be cheaper than Mariott.
It is also nice that you don't have to travel every morning to the event site.
We can party downtown.

See you there

The host hotel is in a great location, really, and $25 a night isn't that bad.

Oakland is not Disney World, we don't have a large quantity of places open for vacation rentals.

Rental apartments and homes are very expensive in this area. Everyone is better off staying at the host hotel. All in one accommodation/venue with BART travel to downtown San Francisco 14 minutes away.

Yo, I'm definitely making this trip; for the entire time. I just have no idea how these trips work really. new to traveling.

Obviously i don't want to waste money, so i probably would want floor space if thats how you guys do it. I'd probably rather sleep on the floor anyways. and i'd want to show up and pay someone, or be on the list for the room, rather than rent my own room and offer space.

to quit babbling, i need a space for the entire trip.

and then there's a couple things you may want to know about me.
A. I don't drink or smoke (not that i care if other people do, im just not planning on doing that. )
B. I am a ridiculously picky eater. its fucking bad. no joke. i personally think its pathetic and hate it. but yeah. Thats it!

Replies would be good :P

Okay - I need to start plotting this crap out now too. I am going to Worlds for the week but I am going to need to stay somewhere besides that hotel. I'll be seven weeks out from my bodybuilding competition and will be training hard for that while I will be there. So I need to make sure I'm capable of locating a gym, a grocery store, and I'll need an actual kitchen... I've got funds for the trip but who is down to let me house with them for this madness

To swizzle- the basics are, have faith, be kind, and get paid upfront / pay for any hotel room or car rental you use. Its that simple :D I imagine Oakland is good for greasy food, there may be some healthy places too but I doubt it late at night. We can buy a grill and keep it Kosher?

So, does anyone have space for 2 more players in his room?
We will be 2 players coming from Switzerland and we already have the plane tickets :)

I need a room where I can chill, talk about footbags, snuggle, play boardgames and occasionally make a night devoted to scary stories. :)

But otherwise I'm fine wherever. Hit me up!

Host Hotel. Way to go.
Let's try to have our rooms toward the bottum floor and all on the same floor.

When you reserve a room please ask for the room number and share it with me. I like to organize hotel meeting by calling people in their rooms.

Let's get a room # list with the occupants names and nights they will be sleeping there.

Still need a room for worlds, Conner (the dude man) and i still both need one i believe, so there is 2 in it together, if anyone else wants to tag along i could probably set up buying the room. The deadline is July 1st for buying the room at discounted price (i believe its discounted just a little)

pm me if your in or have extra space for two.. I'm arriving by plane on the 31st and leaving on the 7th. * still subject to change although i am buying my plane ticket within a week & i will re-post when i do.

** I will most likely end of sleeping on the ground with 1 blanket. I honestly think its more comfortable
