Hey Party people.
It has been far, far too long since I've kicked with Dr. Lackey. That needs to change. This Thursday doesn't work for me, since I work until 8:00 PM, but it is tempting to come to a later session on a thursday next week (I get off work in Downtown mississauga at 5:30).
Imagine the desirable amount of bubble tea to be had in Erik's presence.

Hey everyone!
This is the most action this blog has had in a while! I'm excited!
FAT was sleeping, but I'm trying oh so hard to wake her up!
Alex: Let me know your schedule! Maybe we can do something once or twice at the ol' nipple!
Erik: I think you're right, Cassy lives in Oshawa. As far as active players go, there's me, Andrew Langstaff, and Liam Stanley, who's just new. Greenwood qualifies when he's not tree planting, and Camille was at weed march, although I haven't heard of her playing since. I also met Justin at the march, but haven't heard anything about or from him since. If anyone can get me his contact info I'd love to get to know him better. At any rate, I'm trying to recruit, and having you close will be so beautiful. We need to arrange some kind of schedule to play together.
Jay: That's a good idea, I'd love to see you again soon. I've been following your progress and look forward to being further impressed by how good you are. When would you be able to make it into town, and where is a good spot for you? Or, is there another day you could make it earlier? I work a very early shift, and am usually in bed early... let me know, anyway, and we'll work something out soon!

Sick session today!
Andrew and I met for our usual session at York U on Thursdays. Liam arrived later, but shredded the guitar instead of the bag.
Mike Faille was scheduled to attend the gathering, but some important work put a hamper on those plans. No worries, Mike, we'll hit you up next time.
The playing was hot and humid, but Andrew and I both drilled some concepts we'd been salivating over! For Andrew, Rev Whirls (or does that have a new name now?) and Stepping sets were on tap, and for myself, downtime threes mostly. I'm working on an incremental drill paradigm, where when I can hit a drill, I add a move into it to make it 2 contacts longer.
Anyway, I'm psyched to play and actually feel that I'm almost back to where I was before I stopped playing. More than a couple decently long Guiltless strings had my confidence high!
Jay, Justin, Andrew and Liam: Yonge and Dundas next Thursday? let me know what time you can all get there!
And finally... we were visited today by none other than the (admittedly old school) Bill Hladik, of early FAT! I just might have convinced him to play again with us every other week or so, so here's hoping. As he said, some movements were hard programmed into his legs. As I said, it's like riding a very old, rusty, out of tune bicycle.
Let's shake that rust, FAT...

Jay: It took me a minute to get it... but I get it. Roll... yes. No.
What an awesome session yesterday
In what is likely the biggest Toronto Footbag session since T.O. Jam, we had a shred session at Yonge and Dundas Square that attracted people I was surprised and so happy to see!
Justin Hall: Serious improvement since Weed March! I'm hoping for some Oshawa sessions in the near future, so you won't have to play with blue arms!
Jorden Moir: I love it when I show up to a hard shred session, and one of my highlights is learning how to toe stall. I'm serious.
Jay Boychuk: You inspire me, but now I remind myself of you when you met Jim Penske. You're amazing to watch, and I am going to shred vicariously through you for at least the next few years!
Maciek: I'm so sorry if this isn't your name! I have very little experience with Polish, but I have experience with footbag... and man can you play. Honestly, one of the smoothest, slow-seeming styles I've seen. Amazing.
Andrew Langstaff: I think it's official, you're back. It's been great getting back into shape with you, let's not let it drop (pun intended) and keep it up!
Liam Stanley: I was happy to see you and discuss Laver modifications. Keep kicking around and you'll be shredding hard in no time.
Cassy Taylor: It was a great surprise to see you. I'll be out to Oshawa soon; in the meantime, keep it up and thanks for being my outsider buddy. You know what I mean.
Mike Faille: It was so great to see you. You are one of the first FAT friends I made, and have always contributed well beyond expectation to this scene. I want to play again with you soon, especially when Erik is down to play too!
Tom Mosher: Best shred I've ever seen in tight jean shorts. Don't forget how good footbag still feels, and let me know if you want to get together sometime for some 905-area shred!
Joshua Lackey: You are me. You have been playing better than you did this time, but will use this amazing turnout and inspiration to keep pushing and maintain improvement!
Heh. I can't wait to play again next week!

Hey!!
So - I'm peacin' Vancouver for a bit of traveling this month, but I'll be back in Toronto on August 29th. And I'll be down to shred. It'll be my 20th birthday and a Sunday, so lets get a massive shred goin and then party
So, yeah, this is my notice that we should have a session on Aug 29 -- errbody keep yo' calenders open. I think I'll make a post in Journies to Tournies, but I won't be on modified to organize anything.
Anyway, I'll be away from internets for the next month, but Aug 29th - lets make this happen!

Alex Venis
Ok... so I'm out of town the weekend of the 29th.
However, I am still going to do my part to make sure that Alex's birthday does not go by without some footbag!
Since it usually is, I'm going to assume somewhere downtown works best. Yonge and Dundas is the usual FAT spot lately, so I suggest that. It's best for the out-of-towners who come via Union, as well.
If you do get on here, Alex, feel free to change or veto anything. Also, what time works best?
I'm going to make a Facebook event for this. Hopefully that inspires people to mark the date!
