Stainless Steel Filler (Price Drop!!) !!IN STOCK!!

Post by Brad Benson » 04 Sep 2009 12:26

UPDATE::: Everyone liked this filler so much I had to get some more. I got a bigger shipment this time and it made it a little cheaper. It is now $6 per pound, plus $5 for shipping in the US. Contact me for orders outside the US.

This is my favorite filler for my footbags. It is 409 stainless steel. It is magnetic and has a good resistance to corrosion and of course non-toxic. This stuff is MUCH better than steel filler and is a little heavier than steel, and safer than lead. The particles are in the range of 2mm in diameter, as you can see in the pic, some are a little smaller. They are flat little disks that are around 1mm thick. I threw a BB gun BB in the pile for a size comparison.

Most people mix seed beads or plastic pellets or something with there lead or tungsten to get the fill amount with the weight they want. With this filler all you have to do is fill it to the weight you want and that is usually the fill amount you want. When I use this filler in a bag, that is all I use in the bag. You end up with a bag that feels about like sand but is as heavy as a metal bag and because it is only one uniform filler it plays very consistent.

Strange looking fill, that's for sure. If anyone with lots of experience using different fills can vouch for this stuff, I might buy some from you. My only concern is that they might slip through bleed holes.

Anyone?

I have not had any problems with it leaking out of the bags

i received some of this from brad yesterday. i filled a bag to 60 grams and a mini to 55 grams with this stuff and they are quite nice. the sound the bags make is interesting as well, it's very muted. less bouncy than my tungsten/pellet bags too, and much cheaper.

i recommend picking some up

EDIT: the type of steel used is selected for its resistance to corrosion. citation: "Its applications are those where appearance is a secondary consideration to mechanical properties and corrosion resistance"

basically it's used because it may not be shiny, but it's corrosion resistant. link: http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=969

Could you ship this to the UK, and if so how much would that be?

Little pieces of Heaven.

Post by Toasty » 01 Oct 2009 18:39

Brad, I just want to thank you again for the this absolutely wonderful filler! I used it in a new bag I stitched today, and it is like there are little pieces of Heaven in my bag. As Will said, the sound is very muted when kicked, which I really like as well. I'm definitely going to order another pound.

P.S. Before this filler, I was still using 4.5mm BBs.

Consider me in the next buy.

Donovon, you are definitely going to be the first to get some on my next order.

Anyone interested in getting some of this, let me know so I can get a list together. Once I get 9 more pounds sold I will order more. I have to order quite a bit to get a decent price.

THE SHIPMENT IS ON THE WAY. I got enough orders to get another large shipment to keep the $6 per pound price for everyone. PM me if you want any.

The filler shipment is here and ready to go. Everyone that got in on the order has already had there request shipped out as they did get first dibs on what they wanted since they all helped to make it possible to get another large shipment. If anyone else wants to get there hands on some of this great filler let me know.

Do you make these yourseld? If so how? Don't worry. I'm not planning on making my own. I have no metalworking experience whatsoever, but I'm quite curious.
