Is it the impact of jumping that hurts you? For instance, can you do stuff like no plant clippers or clipper wraps?

Glad to hear it is nothing serious beyond shin splints.

Shin splints definitely suck. I had them back in the day when I was kicking regularly and I tried to fight through it. Bad idea.

You'll have days when you're walking around, and you'll think, "My shins don't hurt at all, I should go kick!" It'll be fine for the first 15 minutes, then after you're going, it'll hurt so bad you'll want to cry.

Definitely give it the rest your doctor recommended. Watch vids. Think about your game. Then you'll come back a little bit rusty, but mentally prepared to elevate your game to the next level.

Mike: Yeah, I can definitely do that stuff, and I actually have been working on Moir's drills for progression. Real stoked that you're probably coming to PSU Jamps! Can't wait to meet and kick with ya! Doctor says I'll be healed by then, Thank Vasek!

Tony: First of all, just gotta say again, your progress has been killer man. Been keeping up with you blog and you're right around the corner from a big part of your career in footbag. And I sit down and extend my leg, wrap the band around my toe and push forward like pushing a gas pedal. I do that until my leg feels like its been tarred and feathered.

Darren: Thanks for the advice and your personal insights. Glad to hear you overcame them. I was starting to think I was never going to a few weeks back. Scary. But yeah, I have been thinking about my game so much.. about to write about that.. Been watching a shitload of videos and correcting my form on literally everything I can hit. Thanks again.

So new with me...

I have an invention that I want to work on a little more, possibly get a patent for and get madd rich. Really excited about it. My dad has an invention that he got patented and he's helping me out with mine now. Like fathah like son, as Hogan would say.

My main squeeze and I are doing wicked awesome. She's been playing still. Still working on basics but improving, nonetheless.

I have decided that I am going to chase after my old goal again and start working out to get a 6-pack of abs, not beer, because I think they look bad ass. (Hey Tony, I know you're the dude to talk to about this sort of thing, so hit me up with some good methods to achieve that shit if you can. I've been doing sit-ups and I feel like it's working slowly. Anything you can tell me would be great, I'm new to this thing every calls "working out").

I got these new things that Kevin and Jeremy Mellor both recommended me.. ZENSAH!!! They are ballin. Mine are obnoxious ass lime green. So sick.

ALSO! I'm going herping with my Mammalogy professor and his TA soon! I'm really stoked. Herping isn't catching herpes, it's catching frogs, salamanders, snakes, turtles, etc... Other than footbag, that's my shit.

Other than that, just bitching to my girlfriend about how I really want to play footbag. I'm going crazy not being able to play... I wrote "FOOTBAG" all over my book bag the other day during Ornithology. I organized all of my sicks and boxers, separating all of my athletic ones from my non-athletic ones. I've spent more time ghosting footbag tricks in my room that I have been doing school work :/ (Catching up though). Been eating really healthy lately so I can be in good condition for when I do come back. Watching those Vegas videos Mike uploaded has really been making my brain throb. Want to play so badly. Can't wait for PSU Jam!

Oh snap, I actually had a mandatory Ornithology field trip to go on that weekend of the jam that I didn't think I was going to be able to get out of, and I started to panic and told her "Family Emergency" and she let me do an alternate assignment... SWEET... Fuck Birds.

You should also try connecting the band to something and then pulling against it. I hope that makes sense...

Herping sounds awesome. I'm curious about this invention you speak of as well. Is it a toaster? You should invent the toaster. Also, what'd your dad invent?

Thanks Tony, I'll try it

Doug! Yeah, herping is sick. You like herpes, so you'd enjoy it for sure :P And my hint to my invention is "Hipsters Will Save The Planet" lol My dad invented this flip-off cap with a microchip inside it for pharmaceuticals, so the doctor can scan it before he gives the patient a injection, so he's sure that he won't misdiagnose. That was a problem for a while. Apparently, Johnson&Johnson liked the idea and bought some once they were manufactured.

I'm interested in what herping entails.

Kevin, she ain't messin with no broke- Hush Yo Mouf!

Erik, one can go about herping in several different ways. My favorite is slapping on a pair of chest waders and walking into a marsh up with water up to the middle of your ribcage, a variety of different species of frogs screaming back and forth to each other. Then you go hunt them down, catch them, observe them, and let them go. The other way, which is still really cool, almost magical, is you walk around on the roadways near a marsh or bog either during a light drizzle (fa shizzle) or while it's drizzling, and you will see HUNDREDS of frogs and sometimes a few snakes crossing the roads. They tend to want to cross roadways when they're all wet because it makes it easier for them to get from breeding pool to breeding pool. Try it, it's a freakin blast. Look up all the local frog species in your neck of the woods, and then try to catch one specimen of every species. That's just about as fun as a late night shred session if you're a herp nerd like me :P Actually, you live near Ottawa Canada, so I can actually tell you the coolest frogs in your parts.. My favorite is the Spring Peeper. Caught my first one actually in Presquile, Canada last summer. Beauties. Grey/Green Tree Frogs are cool and they're probably the most common up near where you live. And I'll stitch you a footbag if you can get a pic of yourself holding a Boreal Chorus Frog. Super rare to actually catch, but they are so freakin cool! You've probably heard them before, just didn't realize it perhaps. Ever walk near wetlands in the Summer and hear a weird chirping sound that is exactly like someone striking the teeth of a comb? Boreal Chorus Frog. SO cool. Wow, sorry for nerding out on you there haha. But yeah, check it out and let me know if you end up going out sometime. Canada has a big herping scene up there.

Neat.
Is that what you were doing up here for that little while a bit back?
I grew up with reptile and amphibian pets. My favourite animal is tree frogs. I had a few Cubans, a Green, a White, a Fire-Bellied, a Bufo Toad. Right now I have a 5-ish foot iguana. I don't have time to do something like herping right now, but if you're ever up here again it sounds like it'd be fun with other people.

Erik, thats so sick that you've had all of those herps. And yeah, if I even come up to Canada again, I'll be sure to hit you up for some herping and footbag.

Ok, I know I said no footbag til PSU Jam, but I was teaching Nadine clippers ( she hit and sealed her first 4 today (2 on each side.. She also footed ATW).. I was in the moment... Got my first 7 ADD.. Not as clean as it could be... but Kevin and I both think it looks like the whirl is there. Also, This was all with my good leg, so I had no risk of injuring my healing leg.

If you're hatin on it, I understand, but I know I can hit this cleaner later on.

Just nice to say I finally hit a 7 ADD. I know it wasn't as clean as I made it sound... I was just excited :P

Played tonight, hit some good stuff. No pain. Going to slowly ease my way back into it. Concentrating on Gyro, Zooms, Spins, ducking/Diving. Footbag felt good tonight. Got 2 new players. More on that later.

Highlights:

 Tomahawk & PS Whirl midstring
 Best zooming/spinning/ ducking runs ever
 Toe Blur
 Quantum Legover (First try ever)
 Ducked Quantum 3 times! Never done that before!

Slowly but surely.

Thanks Bavid. Cant wait to kick with you in 3ish weeks!

Couldn't sleep tonight, so I played in my room for a bit in socks.

 Fairy Eggbeater (first ever)

Yeah footbag.

Edit: Forgot to mention I hit Fairy Reverse Swirling Flapper after I hit the other one.

Kicked with our one new guy for the first time. He's got madd dedication already. I can see it. He already practices "kicky bags" daily, and now that he knows there are tricks, he's going to get into it hardcore. So stoked.

Also, hit a new trick in front of him:

Yeahhhhh... So happy right now. Had a long day of classes and it was so nice out when I got home, I couldn't resist the bag. Plus trying to hit DOD with little pebbles during my Mammalogy lab didn't help my addiction :P

Highlights of my first real solo session in a long time:

 Flip Toe Blur! Brand new. That shit is for Kevin.
 Quantum op Clipper... Also new :)
 Flip Symp Swirl certainly cleaned itself up during my time off.
 Worked basics for a little
 Footed something insane that I've never seen before. I'll try to hit it at PSU Jam
 PS Whirl> Spinning Osis! First spin out of PS Whirl! WOO! Soon I'll turn that Spinning Osis into a Mobius
 Realized my Zooming wasn't as good as Brian Bear's so I drilled Flip Spinning Ducking Osis> Spinning Clipper... Hit that link to a string 10 different times... then figured I'd try for more... Spinning Ducking Osis x3!!!
 Best highlight... No Shin Pain :D

Really cannot wait until PSU Jam happens!!!
