FuNBaGz???? Well, WTF Are Those?!?!

F *#$ Yeah, B*$#%!!!!
U nbelievable!!!
N o Way!!!
B ALLINNNNN!!!
A hhhhhhhhh!!!
G reat Scott!!!
Z ip lines are cool, but not as cool as FuNBaGz!!!

(Cut me some slack, "Z" words are hard to come up with. There are like 5 words total in the English language that start with "Z" anyway... And if I used an "S" instead, then that just doesn't sound nearly as cool, now does it?)

These are just a few of the exclamations you might scream after you open up a package containing your new FuNBaGz Freestyle Footbag!

So you might be asking yourself...

Q: What in the gosh darn world is a FuNBaGz????? You mean like "Boobiez"???

A: GETCHUR HEAD OUTTA THE GUTTER, YA DING-DONG! FuNBaGz are a new brand of freestyle footbag that are hitting the streets. You may be wondering about the tag... I know there a lot of footbag stitchers selling bags nowadays, so if I was going to start stitching and selling my bags, I wanted to do something different. On each and every bag I stitch, I'll be attaching tags to them containing a "FuNTiPz" that will hopefully make you chuckle/smile/giggle/LYFAO/despise me... Hopefully the fact won't be so bad that you despise me though :P But the FuNTiPz are meant to do what I love doing in my life... Giving people something to laugh about, making their day a little brighter.

On top of that, I've started putting my "FuNSiGnIa" on my bags, which consists of a smiley face with 3 googley eyes... like those artsncrafts googley eyes you used when you were a kid... They make playing footbag even more fun than it already is because when you set the bag, the google eyes stare at you and look funny :P Gives you a bit of a laugh during a session.

Each FuNBaGz will run for $20 ($25 if you want spikes on it). Your bag will have my "FuNSiGnIa" on it, and a "FuNTipZ" tag attached to it, all of which are originals from the random/psychotic/creative brain of Nick Polini. To reveal your FuNTiPz, peel off black electrical tape. To remove the tag completely and start shredding, just snip the tag string with a pair of scissors.

Feel free to take a picture of your "FuNTaGz" and post it in this thread. Even give me a bag review if you would like.

I definitely will do custom bags for you.

Gotta pay respects to the people that helped me learn to stitch. Big ups to Nathan Pipenberg (Buy his bags. They're amazing.) and Zach Hoffa (His bags were awesome, and he might get back into stitching and footbag in general, so keep an eye out and buy his bags if he starts selling again!

Bag Review

size-about
weight-62.1 grams
material-ultra suede
- pretty round bag...low gather, stiched fairly close to the edge, instantly stallable, cool colors.

Nice bag...plays fine, stalls well and sets well...I like the weight.. by looking at the new bags on this page...such as Dougs.....it seems the stitching style has chance since this bag....but it still really cool....this was pre fun bag..... I think the gather on the new ones is probably better for overall playability....I have used this bag alot and I hope to get Funbag....Dougs looks sick....

Its cool... the new pics look SICK ....great job[/img]

Bag review:

Well.... it didn't fall apart when I played with it. :P Nah, Nick make's a quality footbag. It looks and plays awesome. It's a hybrid of amaretta and ultra suede light (ya he's capable of producing something like that. I know, I was surprised too) and Idk the weight but I would guess somewhere around 60g. I can't tell you much about the gather or stitching since I don't stitch, but I can tell you that it did not pop a stitch during my session today. So, yah, the stitching seems top notch as far as I can tell.

The nitty gritty: Buy a bag from Polini. I know he sucks and everything but he make's a pretty mean footbag. Hottest stitcher on the east coast right now! Yah, I said it. What? Better step up your game other east coast stitchers. (I'm lookin at you Pipejerk)

EDIT:
Fun Fact Review:
Awful. Not fun, nor a fact. In fact, I demand a reFUNd on my fun fact.

How in the hell do I post pictures in this thing?! Do I have to get an instagram or some picture site place(I will if I have to)? Love the shit out of my pimpin' pink and purple bag. I'm probably not the best for reviews(still don't know much about stitching), but here goes.

Stallable right out of the package, and instantly fell back into it's roundness, which I loved. I wasn't able to shred too long or hard with it, still coming off an injury, but I still played surprisingly well with it. Not 100% on the weight, but I will find out soon. My sets were consistenly straight and I hit two DATW's like they were nothing. Definitely like the feel of this bag. All in all it's awesome, and at a pretty competitive price, plus the fun fact is a bonus. Buy some bags from this man, you won't regret it!

Finally had a chance to kick with my Polini FunBag.

I've gotta say, it's one fine footbag. It arrived soft, round and a pretty good weight (not sure what the weight was, but it felt good to me). Per my old-school footbag upbringing, I spent a day breaking it. Just rolling it in my hand and whatnot. I'm sure this is completely unnecessary, but it's what I did.

Then the moment of truth: Kicking. Right out of the gate this little guy kicked, set, and stalled true. There was no adjustment period - just straight to shredding. I'm not a high-level shredder, but I certainly had no trouble hitting my tricks. The bag stayed round when it was supposed to and still came to a nice, satisfying stop on my stalls. No rolling or flopping.

From what I know about bags, I would say that this guy has about a medium gather. So some pretty good pop. There are some small appearance clues that give away that Nick hasn't made hundreds of footbags (yet). The gather is inconsistent in a few places (making one hex visibly larger than the others). The roundness isn't perfectly consistent. However, these are incredibly minor visual things which 1) don't affect the play of the bag 2) only get noticed when critiquing a bag 3) which won't be an issue once he's sewn a few more bags.

The overall quality is top notch. I got three bags from Nick (a couple for the other guys I kick with) and they've all been kicked. There have been no broken threads, no panels falling apart, and no lost filler. They all kick well and consistent.

Ultimately - these bags are an absolute steal at $15 right now. And they'll be a value even after the price goes up. I can guarantee that this will not end up being the only Polini FunBag in my collection.

Fun Fact Review: These are insane. Ridiculous. Goofy. And awesome. It made me smile. As long as you're not actually expecting a "factual" fun fact, be prepared to be amused.

New stitching method developed and now I'm making the best bags I've ever made... Check out Brian Preuss's bag and compare it to my others.

Sorry for everyone that got my previous bags :\ The new and improved FuNBaGz are much more evenly stitched and SO much more consistent.

FuNBaGz ARE NO LONGER $15

Upping the price to $20 after Mark Monistere's order.

Updates:

1) I got better at stitching and now my bags are pretty damn consistent.
2) Using new secret mix for my filler that makes the bags play much nicer than my original fill.
3) New insignia... (You'll see eventually )

That is all..

Keep having FuN!
