Back from the shred
Well, might as well...
I've only been playing for 3 weeks, and my max consecutives is already 52. My average is about 12 though.
I'm gonna quit with the max consecs and move on to tricks now though.
I've made about 6 footbags so far, all different sizes and weights. After meeting up with Henry, The 2 mikes, Ted & V last Sunday, I've made a very small and very heavy bag, which is my favorite right now. It sits down very well, and you can feel it better than my other bags.
I can do inside, and outside delays quite well, and toe delays are mostly skooled in. I've been working on clippers lately, and most of the time I can get both left and right clippers.
I can do ATWs about 25% bigfoot, maybe 5-10% flipside. :P
I haven't tried butterflies or fairies yet, I'm working on getting clippers and ATWs. Also, I've been skooling leg-overs pretty hard, but they're tiring... Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Yeah, I haven't tried any sets yet, because my ATWs and Leg-overs are so weak. Plus, heavy dexing causes hip pain... i think I'll lay off the dexing for a week or two to let it heal.
I WANT MY CT-520s!!!!!! They had better come by tomorrow, or I'll be upset! (I only ordered them yesterday. :P)
Wow, just noticed the "real names in signature" thread, so I've added that. Sorry guys.

good work on your clippers. i can barely do that
you are going to progress fast because you are doing everything both sides, i didnt do that so now i have to go back and do my tricks flipside.
its fun though

Shoes shoes shoes, it's all about the shoes...
Mine Didn't arrive before I left for work today... I guess I'll get a note on the door when I get home, and pick them up some time tomorrow afternoon. :P
Is it wrong to skip a day of work to wait for the UPS man? Wrong or not, I gotta get paid somehow. :P
A review of the CT-520 hopefully will come next... (unless the brown van fell into a sinkhole and my shoes are gone forever...)
*refreshes UPS tracking page and waits anxiously*

I've done a bit of modification of my CT520s (foam out of tongue, N and material removed from insides) I have to say they are MUCH better than my old shoes. The toe box is enormous (I think the shoes are a size too big for me) I'm hitting stuff I hadn't even thought of getting 2 days ago.
Stuff I've hit reliably:
Clipper > Same Toe
Toe > Op Toe alternating about 10 times
Clipper > Same Inside
Toe > Op Clipper
Stuff I've hit a few times:
Toe > Same Clipper
Clipper > Op Clipper (needs MUCH work)
I think my game is improving very much. Also, I sewed a new bag, it's sort of a thick material, but it's quite sticky. 12 panel, with a huge 75 grams of steel BBs in it!! It's my favorite bag by far, but if I kick it with my ankle, it hurts!!
Looking forward to improving more in days to come!

Props. I couldn't do clippers like that when I first started. 2 months later, and now I'm just getting them. Try schooling legovers and around the worlds. Do about 25 each way, for each foot. then maybe 25 legovers each side. Do this every day or as often as possible. It really improves your game.

My first butterfly! (didn't even know what it was called when I did it!) ((thanks Jim))
I also did 7 right ATWs in a row! w00t!
Gonna start skooling ATWs and Butterflies both sides...
clipper > op clippers still suck, but I'm giving a bit better in the 2nd clipper... Looks promising. :)
My standard clipper drill is
same toe > op clipper > repeat
Rarely can I get to repeat more than once. :( But I'm workin' hard at it, and making slow progress.

I've started a new approach to clipper > op clippers. I hop a bit when I set the bag, then just spin my legs around in the air to the op clipper position. It's a bit more exhausting, all that jumping, but it gives me a better shot at getting into the right position. Anyone have thoughts about this approach?

Well, the whole reason I was doing hop clip > op clips was because my footwork just wasn't fast enough... Now it's quite easy to do right clip > left clips without hopping, but the other way around is still a bit slow, I'm not sure why, since it's my right leg that's faster. I guess I still have slow planting with the left.
Anyway, the other day I did my first left & right in>out ATWs, my first Mirage, my first proper left and right leg-overs, and I'm so close to a clipper > op clipper > op clipper run, I can almost taste it!! :D

forgot to mention... the other day I tried for a half hour to get a double ATW... never did get one (thought I came close), but I managed to completely f*ck up my right leg. I had to quit footbag almost completely for 2 days afterward... For some reason also my shoulders hurt for 2 more days after that, maybe all that counterbalancing, and trying to take flight... arms still a bit tired... :P

Be careful with stuff that makes you rotate your hip like atws. I got the same kind of pain when I first started doing them, I haven't really attempted double atw's yet. After practicing for a while the pain went away, and when I started legovers the same thing happened, but it went away alot faster.

Duomo Arigato MrRoboto...
(sorry, I had to!)
Yes, when I first did ATWs, there was pain in the hip joints, then during the 2ATW attempt, there was pain more in the muscles and hamstring more than anything else. The hip pain went away after 3 days, the muscle pain after only 2 days. My arms are getting back to normal now too, which is much appreciated. :|
anyway... Today, I hit clipper > op clipper > op clipper, not once, but TWICE!
I'll take this as proof that my clipper's are getting much stronger. I still have a lot of flipside work to do (left foot clip > right clip) I have balance problems during the flipside move, and my left foot still tosses the bag somewhat randomly, but I'm getting better every day. :) Also today, I hit some really nice pixies.
Hooray for progress!

Up to 5 alternating clippers! This time, I have video!
http://www.paradon.org/footbag/clippers2.mpg
I know, it's terribly 'the.
Am I doing something wrong, moving too much, setting too high, whatever? This is my first video, so go easy on me. ;) But don't hold back the constructive criticism!

Woke up today to find the power out in the whole neighborhood... I had to eat cold cereal, and use a flashlight to find my way out of the apartment building. :P
Yesterday, my new home-made ultrasuede 12-panel developed a cancer of pinholes... Hundreds of them all at once. This is with a 1 day old bag... I'm not happy. I've filled one of my mutilated post cereal bags with 66 grams of BBs and I hope it plays alright until I can make a new bag that'll hold up better. *thinking of ordering a mr. sandbag*...
*sigh*
