I see where you're coming from, Erik, but I was hanging out with John Goode today and this topic was brought up. We both thought after worlds would be better, since word of Play Footbag Day could be spread about by everyone there.
Everyone, please give us your opinion... Should Play Footbag Day be held BEFORE or AFTER Worlds?

Freedom Footbags Freestyle Footbag Fundamentals Flyer
It’s a 10 megabyte PDF that is two pages; it is meant to be printed on both sides of 1 sheet of paper, folded in half, twice.
We shot the video of Jim. I exported the frames, and Daryl went through each frame of each move and created this. It took him … I don’t know how long.
There’s a hidden Freedom Footbags logo in there somewhere … stay tuned for more about that.

my vote would be the week before worlds, just because i will host 2 players from the us at my house at that time and i wouldnt have to do it alone then
but after worlds is ok too i think. maybe a week or so after it so people can take a few days to recover, because worlds is allways rough!
on the flyer thing: you can print that out as a poster, just from that file, put it on cardboard and set it beside your spot. we did that, it was cool, hackys to give away is also i great idea. if possible you should do that!

Liking these ideas, guys. I'm thinking more after worlds, myself. Allan, great job finding that pdf printout! That puts a little bit of the icing on the cake. This event is looking more and more doable every time I check this thread. I'm really excited.
Maybe one more good handful of people to pitch in their ideas of when we should have it (if you're reading this and you haven't yet posted and let us hear your ideas or feelings about this, then it's now time to do that. Your vote counts!), then we can finally settle on a date and actually do some legitimate promoting.

Oh, when I suggested before Worlds I meant so that footbaggers could spread the word about Worlds before it happens, not about Footbag Day. That's one of the most common questions I get asked -- are there tournaments or a world championships. And then you could say, "Yeah -- next month in Helsinki!"
Just to clarify..
Just to clarify..
I'm in for that idea. actually I always try to get to places where I know people will gather for some reason.
and if i know i'll be getting to some event i always try to make some cheap bags in advance (machine stitched 4 panels, a bag takes me like 20 min. to make) as free give aways.
also some of my net buddy here always gives away footbags to children.
I think it is really important to have some usable, but still cheap, bags to give away to spread the spirit
oh and i think best would be to set the day after worlds, so we can spread the word more directly

Nick and Drew, glad that you guys are down with the idea. And yeah, definitely try to spread the word at US Open, as well as Worlds. Almost forgot about USO.
Jaust, good thinking man. I had a similar idea. I was going to post in the stitcher's forum and get people to look at this and ultimately try to get every stitcher to stitch just one bag, even if it's a 12 panel or even a 4 panel, to give away to the most interested kid.
Please keep spreading this idea around to friends and crew-mates. We need to get this idea out there even further.
