Also be aware that the type of bag you use can affect how it sets. Sandbags tend to stall more easily, but they are less round, and therefore don't set as "true." A rounder bag will leave your foot more consistently, but it is also harder to catch.

When you can hit ss clipper * 10, try to do them 3 different height sets.

start out first clipper set knee height, like for pick-up
second one waist high for dlo
third one neck high like for ducking

There are, 2 big things in setting a clipper I do believe.

The clipper leg, which you use your knee and a bit of ankle to set.
The support leg, which you use to give a little more "pop" to it.

I assume since you are hitting your leg with it, that you are not setting enough with the support leg, thus your clipper leg's knee motion just throws it inwards.

I'd try out 100% support leg sets, [they wont go high at all] and then try a few with 50% support leg and then 50% clipper leg sets...

Oh, and practise pratise practise

Definitely try and set the bag using your support leg and clipper leg. If you can time both of these perfectly with each other, it should be no problem setting it high enough for even a ducking trick. Hope this helps.
