my car is going to be a clown car of footbaggers. I wish I didn't ride around in a 50 pound coupe. It's a good thing footbaggers are tiny little buggers.
I'm so ready for this. _________________

Hey everyone! Excited?!
Okay, I would like to say that the turnout for our second annual tournament is looking very good from our list of attendees (and possible attendees as well). It was great to see a lot of people showing up in the dead of winter at our first annual last year, but the list of new and returning attendees for this year in the summer is what makes our tournament that much more fun and exceptional! I can't wait to meet you all.
Me and Barrett had an extensive talk yesterday, and it looks like we have a good amount of prizes from a lot of great people in the footbag community. If anyone has a prize they wish to sponsor at our tournament, feel free to post it here in this topic or talk to me or Barrett over the phone once you arrive. We'll happily accept them and sponsor your prizes and your gratitude throughout the tournament proceedings. If you are a stitcher, I will do my best to help needy footbaggers want your awesome bags. It is the least that I can do to help your tournament experience that much better.
We'll be having casual hack &/or footbag shred at Union Square all day tomorrow. Just give NYFA a ring, and we'll do our best to accomodate you into NYC.
FOOTBAG!

www.hopstop.com for all your nyc travel needs...
Basically port authority is on 42nd and 8th ave. There is a subway right on that corner, take the N train downtown. 14 Street - Union Square is the 2nd stop. _________________

Right at the Port Authority Bus terminal, there should be a place where you connect to the subway station. You'll have to buy a metrocard or a single ride pass to go past the turnstiles, and there will be machines besides the turnstiles where you can purchase metrocards. Train fare is $2.00 USD per ride, so plan accordingly. I think for an entire weekend a $10 paid metrocard will do any arriving footbaggers well as they travel around the city.
Now, from the Port Authority bus terminal, I'm sure there will be a long underground corridor within the station itself that will be long and tumultuous, but if you ask around and look for the signs pointing out where the N/R/W/Q trains are (highlighted in yellow), you will find your way. Take either train downtown to Union Square 14 St.
Okay, NYFA will be showing up at Union Square plaza at around noon to 2 pm, and we'll be there to hang out and help direct footbaggers to our location. Feel free to call us and we'll help you all out as best as we can. YEAH CAN'T WAIT!! _________________

Great tournament, great turn-out, great venue. Sunday shred was pretty bummed out because of passing thundershowers, but I think this is the one tournament where I've played the most, and exerted myself beyond my own limit. It felt awesome to be playing with so many great footbaggers right here in our great city, NYC. We need to make our next NYFA jam in the spring/summer next year!
What an amazing day Saturday was, the day of competition. Though there may have been some mild unexpectancies and disappointments that sprung about from this tournament, I think the tournament as a whole functioned and played out pretty well. I hope everybody else feels the same way. Braving the hot summer sun wasn't easy, but we all pushed ourselves in playing some great footbag.
A very big amount of kudos to Barrett Neimeth and the NYFA clan mates (Bruce Dole especially, for the awesome trophies and I think t-shirt design), Matt Cross for being an amazing MC, Jorden Moir and his outstanding performances in footbag and juggling, everyone who has volunteered to help us with set-up, our judges, and to the players who have come out of their way to play in our tournament. It would have not been so successful without the players themselves to help support us, whether through their sideline shred or their amazing showmanship through competition. Thank you all!

I had so much fun! I met a lot of really cool people, got myself back into the groove and competed in my first event, and just had a very enjoyable time. Thanks to everyone who came, and to barrett and bruce especially for getting it all together and keeping me housed _________________
