Challenge Jordan

Post by Jordan » 17 May 2009 18:55

I've recently got back into footbag, playing atleast 3-4 times a week for an hour or more. I thought this would be a good time to set up a "Challenge" topic for myself because Im getting better at the sport and I hope to only get better. With the help of you guys ofcourse :P

(Tricks I have solid)

 Clipper
 Illusion
 Legover
 Pickup
 Butterfly
 Mirage

(Tricks I can hit most of the time, but NOT 100% solid)

 Pdx Mirage
 Pdx Illusion
 Infinity
 SS Mirage
 SS Butterfly
 DLO
 Eggbeater
 Symposium Mirage
 Ducking Butterfly
 Ducking Clipper
 Osis

I would love to get the above more solid while also improving other things. Also, Im not good at any sets, I can do pixie and stepping, but im not so great at them, and I dont think I should be getting them down just yet. So for now, I just wana work on the basics and hopefully I can learn my sets and get them solid before the summer ends...

Here are a couple of good drills to work every session.

One full cycle of each, 4 contacts, then push yourself to do more. Same with the Full drill.

Mirage > Ss Mirage rpt
Illusion > Ss Illusion rpt

Mirage > Ss Mirage rpt > Illusion > Ss Illusion rpt

Here are some things to work:
Ss Clipper. This will help with alot of ss tricks

See how many drops it takes you to reach 100 of a consecutive move (i.e. start where you left off, not at 0) for your first 6 moves listed, alternating and on both sides. Then work on cutting your drop count in half.

Then remove your drops one at a time until you do them all dropless. :)

Remember to keep good posture and form (body tall, back straight, stomach tight, head high, balance slightly forward, playing on the toes, hips pivoting to dex).
