"Infinite" which was eminem's first CD, before he went mainstream or anyone knew who he was, is one of my favorite hip-hop CDs ever. I can't stand anything that he puts out now. I doubt you would be able to find Infinite in the stores, but I recomend checking this CD out. His presentation is nothing like it is now. He has a perfect balance, and flows like no other.

Fact: Eminem bit Nas' style on Infinite. Definetly a sick album though.

And how can you say you can't stand anything else dude's put out. MMLP and SSLP were both very good albums.

Hey I want to hear some more new stuff, I have a craving. Any other artists people can recommend? I'll throw one for you guys:

Felt.

Its a collaboration of Murs and Slug, very tight. Im not the hugest fans of these guys, but its pretty good.

My latest hip hop obession has been over FIVE DEEZ (Slow Children Playing in particular). I'm not the biggest analyst and critic of flow and lyrical content, but Fat Jon is one of the BEST beat producers there is, imo. The way he fills out a track is amazing. Some of the most imaginative beats I've heard... He collaborated on some of the Samurai Champloo OST's, too. <3

Also been listening to Jean Grae who I like.

Reminds me of No Chorus by Dr. Dooom...Spoken word (literally..it's no poetry :P) at the end of the track:
    That's right, Dr. Dooom
All you motherfuckers around the world sittin in studios with your boys
    Hypin your shit up
Motherfuckers don't wanna tell you that your shit is wack
    because they all yes men
Sittin around, carryin your roadie cases
    Bein your fuckin cheerleaders
I'ma tell you straight, look in the fuckin mirror, you wack
That shit don't sound right, your mixdown ain't right
Your vocals are too low.. your fuckin cadence is off
(..Yeah, that's all your quote reminded me of :P)
    Stage show's weak.. fuck you!

I'm not a huge fan of a blatant shit-talking track, but if anyone can do it then it's one of the many personalities of Kool Keith. Fun track, more than anything.

Oh, and I know I'm way late on all this..but, Sam, I picked up Greenball II by Jel, and it is off the chain. Besides the Marine Corps samples he uses over and over and over ad nauseam, the actual music is really good. Fatty syncopated beats over really cool and different melodies. A few recycled beats are on there, like Smoke and Mirrors (which was on Personal Journals)...but I'm not opposed to listening to good tracks I've already heard without any lyrics; if anything it lets you appreciate the meat of the song, moreso. This album was released on Mush Records..which seems to randomly pick up Anticon artists every now and then..I don't know what their connection is. I urge anyone who likes straight beats and original melodies to check out Greenball II.

Not in responce to Nick (sorry), just wanted to say easily my favourite aussie band and my favourite hip hop group at the moment is True Live - www.truelive.com.au - a bit like The Cat Empire only darker and cooler. I think they have their first album coming out in April - presumably only an Aussie release at this stage.

I can't think of the best battle rap, but one of the best battle rappers is tonedeff, especially on hyphen ep.
