Celebrity Deathmatch- Jester vs. Flying clipper

Post by wicked » 11 Dec 2002 09:15

Flying Clipper is the true name for a flying cross body kick. It represents truth and justice, but still, you gotta respect that name jester. This little word, somehow is known by people who dont know the word footbag.. Why is it the universal language for a flying clipper? Everybody knows what a jester is. I gotta ask myself how did jester do that? I think thats cool. Usually I laugh when asked, can u do a jester?? Or, "all i can hit is jesters" Then i say "oh you mean flying clipper," I dont know, maybe its kindof cool name. Should we call it jester?

I think it probably stemmed from that old 80's video game california games, but im not sure.

Hey kenny were people calling flying clippers jesters before california games?? Did anyone here play that game? Were u guys pissed off back in the day when it said jester instead of flying clipper???

When California Games came out we were all saying "Jester? Where the hell did they get that from?" It had been Flying Clipper for many years already by then. There were some other good trick names on that game but I can't remember them right now.

Dizzy Dean was a Head Bonk, then a 180 spin and another head bonk. Head banger was the EXACT same thing but you started facing backwards....

What's an Axel Foley?
I remember playing Cal Games, but thought hackysack sucked then.
Now, I'd love to get the game again.

Chan, Thanks for posting some of those trick names. The Axle Foley was the one I was thinking of. That's a cool name for a trick. Wasn't it like a spinning cross body sole?

I used to play california games as well. but it is so long ago, that I don't have any clear memory of the game.
I got to down load the game.
But I never heared the word "jester" in Europe before reading this chat.

if u lived in america you probably would have, it was totally standard at my high school as was dragonfly and butterfly. I saw a guy hit a pendulem one day and almost shit my pants it was like the best thing i ever saw.. It was good foundation for just doing alot of kicks for like 4 years. I still hear jester sometimes.

This is a great celebrity deathmatch. after jester was in totall control of this matchup early on, it appears that flying clipper is making a comeback.. ahead by only one vote! Who will win? Everyone VOTE!!!!
