It's a hard question to answer. Are net and golf included? They seem so separate from the rest of the sport. To me, the Pentathalon would have to be pretty much all freestlye/shredding (pentathashred?). At the same time though that wouldn't be representative of the whole sport, assuming that golf and net events can be considered sub-sports within the sport of footbag.

Hmmmm.

5-Minute Timed Consecutive!

Footbag Pentathalon depends a lot on how broad-minded you're going...

Are you concerned primarily with a FREESTYLE Pentathlon, or FOOTBAG Pentathlon?

Clearly a freestyle pentathlon needs no net or golf events, etc. Routine, Shred30, Circle, Sick 3, Request... those would be good for a freestyle pentathlon.

On the other hand, a broader FOOTBAG Pentathlon should be balanced evenly between freestyle events, net events, and other events like golf, consecutives, and SOMETHING else that's not biased towards either of the primary disciplines of freestyle and net. (So, no "doubles distance one-pass", which clearly favors Net skills). I might suggest some kind of "silly event" like a "footbag dash", but, then again, we already have golf...

Finally, I presume you were joking, but suddenly the idea of a footbag DRESSAGE event has appeal... I can imagine an event where difficulty or choreography or duration are secondary considerations, but the primary consideration is simply "best technical execution". An event like that might inspire more people to improve their postures, go deeper on dexes, etc.

Like the idea of pentathlon. Request is missing, but I'd like a different one, the Freestyle Football one, where the rounds are a bit vague. So a round could for example be: 10 Unique Guiltless or 5 two dex tricks.
Obviously, an ideal pentathlon would be Sick 1, Sick 2, Sick 3, Sick 4 and Sick 5. That would be sick.
I hate bad form and I'm a hypocrite.

I actually had that as an option originally, but I was limited in the number of options I could put in the poll. I probably should have combined Footbag Golf and Golf as a single option, but I was hoping I could lure Max Boucoirain out by making "golf" its own category.

Request was an oversight. Maybe after this poll gets enough responses, I can make a "freestyle footbag pentathlon" poll with just the top finishers from this poll.

I know its early still, but "footbag eating contest" is only 4 percentage points behind Circle Contest. Honestly, while that event may not showcase talent/skill as much as some of the others, it definitely shows how badly somebody wants to win.

Do you have actually have to eat footbags?

What about beer chugging competition? Or Jäger chugging competition for Derek Littlefield.

Since footbag is not strictly freestyle, I chose
-Circle contest
-Shred30
-Sick1/3
-Footbag Golf
-Footbag net events (singles/doubles)

Though an eating contest is right up my alley

Damnit, I misspelled Max's name. :x

I'm not going to do pie charts like Jay's analysis, but I think the informal takeaway from this survey's results is that people are interested in a freestyle footbag pentathlon. Net and golf didn't get much traction, nor did incorporation of other sports like dressage/actual golf. So between this survey and Jay's study, I think there's evidence that people don't want to see a return to the old "overall champion" from past years, but rather have a blended freestyle champion based off of purely freestyle events.

Fuck it, here's one pie chart just for the hell of it:
