oh and reading some other threads along the lines of this topic makes it more than obvious that quite a few of the top players in footbag smoke weed.

*points to the thread named: Drugs in Footbag*

he isn't a "stoner," though; he never did it other than when he was already drinking/partying. he doesn't play high, at least not for competition.

yeah definately not. It seems like more of a social thing with him, and something he uses to relax.

I've only smoked twice in my life. Once from 1998-2006, and then again
from 2007 to the present.

Yeah, footbag is fun, and we can have fun without drugs, weed, alc. etc.
...not as much fun as we can have WITH them ;) (at least weed)

I have never tried it mostly due to being into sports most of my life and just never needing to do it. I also have a slightly addictive personality which I have kinda figured out for my self so its best for me to not get into drugs. On that note it doesn't bug me to be around it, as a lot of my friends are high more then they are sober lol

When people say they have "addictive" personalities, all I can think of is a person who champions having no self control. Just grow up and shave your balls man.

haha but isn't it still self control if you know what you should and should not do for your self. When I like something for the most part I like it a lot.

It sucks shaving the balls, mostly post-shave.

I used to smoke when I first got into footbag but have quit since. I've been getting more into sports that require lung capacity, which definitely improved after quitting. Also, it can become expensive and in my case I didn't feel productive.

I tried smoking and playing a few times but I ended up getting bored and quit pretty soon into it. More fun sober here

Well said. There seems to be so much confusion these days in society between understanding why something happens and taking responsibility for it. Just because something can be explained, it doesn't mean we don't have a choice to make our lives different. Being addicted to things doesn't stop you from be able to choose to break the habit, and indeed most people who form an addiction manage to break it, usually on their 5th attempt, and regardless of how they choose to treat it (ie. how many times they've tried to quit is a much stronger predictor than the method of breaking the addiction that they've chosen).

I smoke a few times a week with friends. It's a good way to relax, it calms me down when I have too much going on in my head. But if I get in the habit of smoking too regularly I get really lazy, so I keep on top of it.

I could see that post having merit if placed in a different conversation. Justin said he avoids some things because he knows they are bad for him. Theres nothing wrong with that.

I started footbagging when I was already a stoner (gram a day or more).
And I took maybe a month break somewhere in there, and footbagging turned bad, or more pointless. Weed actually inspires and motivates me, with everything I do! i guess i should be thankful it doesnt seem to have a negative mental effect on me :) i still play longer than anyone i shred with, soo i guess it's not taking too much of a toll on my stamina either.
