Sand Vs Pellets(Poll)
I decided that since the other Sand vs Pellets post was getting big (And hard to tell which one most people prefered) that I would start a poll.
just to get a good clear statement for me to act on, what is, in your opinion Chan, the best 32 panel facile i can get?
btw, somewhat unrelated, i checked out your FAQ on cleaning bags but you mentioned that your instructions were intended for a paneled bead bag. does it also apply in tact for a revolution bag? or are there subtle alterations?

i wash my revolution exactly the same as i wash my facile bags. thanks for checking out the faq
in my opinion, carol wedemeyer bags are the best 32-panel facile bag. but thats only coz i havent played with anything other than carol bags, and juice bags, umm and some otehr really crappy ones i wont mention. im sure richie abshire and mike wilson bags are equally good.

are carols as small and heavy as revolutions? that's one thing i really appreciate about the revolution compared to my old bag, its much smaller and heavier. my last bag was a "hero" (i've never heard of it either) 32 panel synthetic leather bag and compared to my revolution its a monster in size but really too light to feel substantial... so, i would prefer a smaller heavy 32 panel facile if possible.

It's pretty windy most of the time up here in the mountains, and I've been told that Revolutions are the most wind-resistant bags so that's what I use. Thinking about getting a carol... in your experience are they ok in the wind or do they blow around a lot?
i like to kick the little footbag thing around and move my legs around it and stuff
Probably my favorite bag ive owned is a 32 panel facile juice. Bought it in 1997, and i still have it, althought its really floppy now, and really light, but it stalls like a dream.
Within the past month ive been starting to play with Mr. Sandman bags though, they are really nice, just takes a bit of getting used to. Ive played with a lot of Dirtbags, I like them but they dont seem to last longer then a couple months.
Sand is nice for the outdoors where it might be a bit windy, pellets are nice for those windless days or inside. All the pellet bags ive played with seem to be a bit lighter then the sand ones. Usually with any pellet bag I have though, I put it away when im out in public and others join, just cause I dont want to see my juice get ripped from someone doing a toe pickup or somethin evil like that.

sandmans are great...
but there is a 32 panel out there for everyone! I went through about 4 different 32 panels and they all stunk IMO, all to light or not able to be broken in enough before the panels wore holes in them.
But keep looking, after finding the abshire minis, small and heavy, my game went through the roof!
To summarize, sandmans are great but EVERYONE needs to spend some time with a 32 panel, it just takes some searching.

Ive got a abshire mini, half way brokin in and its nearly as easy to kick as my really floppy Aurora from australia. Once its 'fully' broken in, im sure it will be twice as better than it is now and just as easy as a sandbag.
But its best to experiment which bag is best for YOU. its good to just test out diferent bags...
Cheers

So, I haven't had the chance to see an abshire yet, but I see people talking about them quite a bit. Are they anything like a facile juice? They seem to have the same type of panels on it, pellets, etc, is this just the new juice or is it different in some way? From freedomfootbags.com, they dont mention if the abshire is a facile or not, but they seem to look the same to me. Anyway, im getting a couple mr. sandbags, so I wont be kicking my jester hack filled with aquarium rocks around anymore =)

I started out playing with pellets. Moved to sand for a while and have now moved back to pellets. I think that being able to play well with lots of different bags is a really important skill to learn and is especially important if plan on going to tournaments.
I guess the main reason I prefer pellets is that the bag I'm currently using (an abshire mini) is a lot heavier than the sand bags I've used in the past (mr sandman and aurora) It also keeps it shape better and I believe is a lot better for my technique. I think that a player that mainly uses pellet bags will find it a lot easier to use a sandbag than a sand player will find it using a pellet bag. Pellet bags teach you how to stall better and they also force you to perform dexes earlier and thus cleaner - I especially notice this with symp double downs. With a sandbag and fast legs it's very easy to "the" dexes and still land the move. With a pellet bag if you just stick your foot out at the last minute and hope the bag stays there, chances are it will bounce off - you need to actually take the stalling foot down with the bag - this forces you to get the dexes done quicker - both starting earlier and taking less time - thus these days my double dexes are more consistantly clean (I believe) than they used to be.
But most I guess the most important thing to do is to try out as many different bags as you can. I think I've now played with most of the different kinds of bags you can get and have some idea how they perform. I don't really have a favourite kind of bag - rather I want to be good enough that I can shred well with anybag.
