lavers vs. gunits
ok, i'm looking into buying my first pair of shred shoes *go me* and i am having a hard time deciding for sure whether i want lavers or gunits. so any help as to the pros and cons of each shoe against each other would be appreciated. like what needs less modding, which is easier to mod, which is lightest after modding, so on and so forth.

I've always had better luck with lavers. They're a hell of a lot cheaper ( for me to get at least ), much easier to mod, and they tend to last longer. And as your first pair, I would definitely go with Lavers, ( they were my first shredding shoe , so I'm kind of biased ) they'll improve your game 10fold within the first few months .
But, whichever you decide, good luck with them. You can always find mods for either on this site or others, happy shopping bro.

I like g-units better than lavers because:
- They have larger surfaces and I like being sloppy
- The sole absorbs most of the impact. I don't get tied as fast, and can go longer without getting tired.
- Better traction
I'd get both shoes if I were you, and decide which one works better.
Also, there's some info you might find useful:

Footbag is a cheap sport and you can get fully equipped for a decent price.
Don't forget to get spenco insoles, these babes will save you a lot of troubles as you get older.

my opinion is, you can start with both. it doesnt matter. get the ones you get cheaper. units are easier to mod than mesh lavers, have better support and traction, and stalling is easier, but lavers arent as bulky, and they teach you to play more clean. its up to you. if you stick to the sport, you will ty both somewhen.

If you have pretty bad ankle crank you might consider g-units.
If not, definitely go with Lavers.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

But do we really have a way of figuring that out, or is it just an assumption?acxel22 wrote:If you start your footbag career in g-units, you are going nowhere.
Let's say a person starts freestyling in G-Units, and after a reasonable period of time (say year or two) it turns out he/she is a quite shitty player, can we really blame G-Units? Can we really say that he/she would been a better player, had he/she chosen Lavers? If you have what it takes to become a decent player, shoes will make no difference really (I'm talking about Lavers, Units, Climas, Dunbars, etc.). If you a bad player - then you're! and there's nothing can be done about that except working your ass off .
Yes, G-units make clippers easier, and I, personally love that to death! That was one of the reasons why I switched from Converse Skateboarding Shoes to Lavers. And I think most people here had exactly the same reason for switching to a better shoe that makes you toe and clipper game easier, more controlled.
I'm just saying we don't really know how bad G-Units are for a newbies, but what we know for a fact is that they have a few advantages over Lavers.
