OMG RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ARE COMING TO AUSTRALIA!!!!!!

Who thought this day would ever come? When they did their first concert together this year I almost bought tickets and flew over there and regretted that I didn't.

January 30 will be the greatest day of my life. Maybe I'll get tickets to a few of their concerts even.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

OMG are you serious?

I knew they reformed and stuff and would do some gigs, but someone told me that it was only for the Coachella festival and that they wouldnt do anymore. Thats so awesome!!

So Jan 30 next year. Where are they playing?

EDIT: Nevermind, the force is strong with me:

Well, Rage Against the Machine is obviously one of the headline acts for Big Day Out 2008. Ahead of a BDO announcement, promoters Lees & West have let the cat out of the bag by announcing RATM shows for Sydney and Melbourne that straddle the BDO dates.

Rage Against The Machine will play the Sydney Entertainment Centre on January 22 and Melbourne's Festival Hall on January 30.

Big Day Out is on in Sydney on January 24 and Melbourne on January 27.

Yeah it's so good. It's a dream come true. I can't imagine what could be more awesome.

Anyway in other news, the Inferno Of Terror continued today for a second day (a building in the city caught fire yesterday and has been burning ever since). We drove past but didn't see anything. Some friends of mine work there, and apparently left their phones and wallets in the building when they were evacuated (as they're supposed to). The news reports say that it's still burning, but we couldn't see any evidence of that.

Apparently there was a national fire fighters meeting of some description in Hobart this week and there were over 900 fire fighters in the city when it happened. Sounds suspicious to me ;). Anyway, as has been pointed out, the only big losers in the whole ideal is the insurance companies, so it's a win for humanity.

We had our second touch football training today. Our team is getting a lot better. There was another team training, so we played a practice game against them and smashed them; which was good to see. It was a clear demonstration of good fundamentals being better than athleticism, and fun too.

I've been playing a little footbag as well.

That vid was 1337, i watched the whole thing! Those guys are crazy. I think it will make your many touch-footy stories much more interesting now Jeremy
Those guys are seriously fast though, im guessing it wasnt just the video playback haha. The passes are mammoth too

Yeah touch football is awesome once people have the basics down - bit like footbag I guess.

Missed out. True Blow.

Going to have to go to one of the Big Day Out concerts instead.

I saw that on Ebay there are tickets going for over $100,000 which is probably a little excessive in my opinion :P

yo jezza mezza, it is good to hear from you. I too suffered from cramps the other day, for the first time on the squash court, i still won in five though.

Those touch skills are pretty mad.

No offence but i think your goal of 100 tries is pretty unachievable, even for a talent like yourself.

Have a happy day, God Bless, you little atheist you.

We will see mate :). I will post updates as we go :). I figure there are probably around 20 games in the season, so I only need to manage an average of 5 a game, which is achievable. It just depends how much of a "team player" I'm going to be :P

Had a great weekend. Kicked twice, once with Alex and JP on Friday, which was a fun kick, and then again on Sunday with Alex, JP, Daniel, Corey/James, Aric (or is it Eric?), Janis, and Jamieson Hickingbotham. Both kicks were really fun, and I played a lot better than I was expecting. Actually I would say that given the circumstances, my performance on Sunday was amazing (because I went out on Saturday night for a fun trip and an Excellent time as well as drinking about 15 beers); to be able to back up and play well after that was a good effort. I wasn't hitting anything too hard, just some good length runs with some good variety.

My skills have not atrophied much despite having barely touched a footbag between March and September, so that's good. Actually my eggbeaters and flip downs seem stronger, so that's a win.

JP and Alex are heaps of fun to play with, and I hope they start kicking a little more ;). Daniel and Janis have improved heaps. It was good to see a bit of consistency and some runs from Janis. Sometimes I feel that he spends too much time trying hard tricks, which I guess we can all be accused of (I know I definitely do occasionally, and then I feel guilty and don't tell anybody what I hit :P), so it's good to see he's starting to get the fundamentals down.

My belief is that if you can't hit a move to hand catch 20 times in a row (with no drops) then you still need to spend time working on that move. Of course there are lots of footbag moves, so you need to prioritise, but if it's not at that level, don't practice harder versions of the same move unless it's in some kind of training regime of that component.

It was great getting to kick with Corey and Aric, who remind me of Alex and Ollie when they were starting (although Corey and Aric are probably faster learners ;) ). It was good to see them both improve during the session too.

Jamieson Hickingbotham is super talented. He was hitting stuff like 69 and frontside fury. Run length could do with work though, he needs to play more often too! Also sometimes he holds his hands like he is a little teapot, short and stout.

Perhaps they won't be so wild, but I've decided I'm going to go interstate for footbag kicks more often, because it's so good actually getting to play with people. Work is a little tough at the moment; I love my job, but managing a team of 20 people and working 6 days a week is more work then I would like.

Wow! A post actually about footbag. Haha.

We played touch football in gym class last week.
I killed. The teacher kept on switching me around to do the teams fair.. but couldn't.

If there was a club in Denmark I would prolly consider playing it seriously.
Hella fun!

How was Alex game? Rumors says that he is back into serious shredding.

Did you check out the book I recommended?

Cheers bro!

I just wanted to share this quote from the first aid course I'm doing for work at the moment;

"[counselling] is a literal mine field"

If that's the case, I'll probably stay away from it then, or bring a metal detector next time I go see a psychologist.
