A local rafting shop is having a hacky sack comp on 9/1. Teams of 4 with a 5 minute limit for how many full hacks you can get. They claim to be using IFPA rules, which is pretty chill. I doubt how legit they are in following them though (for instance, no upper body contacts). I signed up with 3 other people that used to be in the Missoula Footbag Alliance. Should be fun. It'll be embarrassing if we lose though haha. I'm pretty sure that they used a pic of Mike Marshall on their flyer.

That looks like a fun event. Is that place a brewery? I'd love to see more of this sort of stuff around, that's really relaxed and more about "the vibe"

Love Boat Paddle Co. is a locally owned boating shop. Mostly kayaks, rafts, and paddle boards. I actually heard about the event from a kayaker that I grew up with. His buddy owns the store and is putting on the event. Later that day, I saw a flyer for it at a locally owned grocery store!

Edit: the funny thing is, the bud that let me know, works in Washington DC, and saw something about it on either Instagram or Facebook. I got rid of social media on January 1, and may move to a call and text only flip phone lol

That's cool. Nice to see people doing stuff like this and involving footbag.

The hacky tourney was funny. Just going to copy/paste what I sent to Bob Green. There were about 8-10 teams. Two teams would face off at once, and a separate captain from each team would count the number of full hacks from each group.

“The dude that counted our hacks got hella confused and lost track. I think we had around 85 full 4 person hacks in 5 minutes, but he said 52. We let it go cause it's a community event and people were having fun and drinking. Didn't want to make a stink over hacks haha. So we lost the first round lol”

“I have mutual friends with the event host, and emailed him just to let him know. He was like, "yeah, I figured. Thanks for supporting. We'll do better next year". There was a footbag world banner and the prizes were Footbag world magazines and visors 🔥🔥🔥

Also, the lead singer from smash mouth died of liver disease 😭😭😭

The hack tournament sounds like it was fun. I am surprised that there were so many teams there to compete.

If there's 8-10 teams of what, 4 people each, that's a bigger turnout than most footbag tournaments these days.

Had a Footbag dream last night. Not playing, but doing weird things like Pictionary with footbaggers that I haven’t seen in forever. Should probably get off my ass and visit folk.

At work in da library, I'm ordering 2 volumes of a science journal from Drexel University. The author is named Bahls. I so badly want to write "This set of Bahls would fit nicely in our collection

Snow has already hit Montana. Will this pair of Bahls arrive weathered?

I noticed the binding on these Bahls are dropping. Will you pay me more to preserve the work on these Bahls?

The hardest part of footbag, is probably timing the updog.
