I played the past 3 days. I want to try to get into playing most days of the week, but I'll have to be smart about having "rest days" where I actually play (low-impact, downtime-only sessions probably). Friday I played with Dan. We played through some rain. He played really quite well. Saturday I worked on symposium, which hasn't really lost all that much in the past year or two of not doing it much, I just need to remind myself to do it during strings. Sunday I worked on Rev. Swirl stuff and just played. None of the sessions were spectacular for me, but I'm enjoying myself and am feeling generally pretty good about my game at the moment.

Some cool stuff from East Coasts:

Nucler ss Gyro Toe
Quantum ss Gyro Toe
Spinning Ducking Clipper>Spinning Gyro Toe (to start a Variety run in circle prelims)
Vortex>Gyro Rev. Swirl
Quantum Whirl>Wet Dream (on Kevin's stupid request)

3rd place in circle finals (behind Evan and Krystof)! I was super satisfied with how I played in both prelims and finals and I feel like I've gotten my mental game to a really good place over the past couple of months.

Nuclear ss gyro toe is such a fun trick.
Vortex>Gyro rev swirl is super cool too.
Props on 3rd place. Look forward to shredding with you again in the future.

3.5 hour session with Dan yesterday. It was probably the last nice day of the year out and the weather was perfect. I was playing with my shirt off and people were walking by in winter coats. What a bunch of weirdos. I've been feeling weirdly creative today, playing around with more rakes + gyro toe stuff. It's fun to be good at a lot of tricks and do them in weird orders. Hit some of the best Ripped Warriors I've ever done yesterday, so maybe I'm like understanding stepping ducking now? We'll see.

Dan and I played for 3.25 hours and it was hands down the best session I've had in my entire career. I didn't hit the hardest links I've ever hit in my life, but everything felt so fucking good. Excellent long runs all over the place, great control, creativity. Ugh. Hopefully this is here to stay.

Phoenix>Blurry Whirl>Blurry Whirl>Blurriest>Tomahawk>Tomahawk>PS Whirl>Spinning Whirl>Scorpion's Tail>PS Whirl>Spinning Whirl>(bad set Scorpion's Tail)

That was my first time breaking my fearless record in over 4 years. It took me like 30 minutes of working up to it and getting 7-9 a half dozen times, but it was worth it, I was super psyched. 15 feels really attainable, and I feel like I can shoot to get at least 8 every session.

Had a session with Dan on Sunday (because we like torturing our bodies). I don't remember anything in particular, but we both played well and I had plenty of good/long strings.

Played last night (still managing to play outside, even if the last 30 minutes is in the dark). My double downs have been feeling particularly strong lately, so I was messing around with POD, which has always been an awkward trick for me.

^ basically sums up our sessions.

Dan and I had an OK session today for 2 hours. It wasn't great, but we're still playing better than we were two months ago, so that's pretty cool.

Haven't had much time to play lately except for sessions with Dan. I was so exhausted yesterday from early work and staying up late the night before making my work Halloween costume so session was just OK. Managed some good strings despite having no energy.

2.5 hour session with Dan yesterday. Probably the latest in the year I've ever played outside, so that's pretty cool!

Played pretty well, though only a few standouts:

Vortex>Revup>ss Drifter rpt bs
Scorpion's Tail>Tombstone rpt bs

Really really enjoying the level of creativity that I've been feeling lately. Not like I'm going to be Ianek junior, but I'm continuing to surprise myself midstring which has been super fun.

Had a really fun 3 - 3.5 hour session. An hour of which was on video with Ivan who was giving me drills. The goal of today was to work Atomics, and I'm not sure that I made that much progress, but I got some cool stuff at least.

Played with Dan for 2.5 hours today. My body's still remembering how to deal with the stress of footbag coming back from vacation, but we're getting there.
