Bander's Junk

Post by Bander87 » 22 Jun 2005 22:11

June 22rd, 2005 (acuatly 23rd of time of this entry)

So Since I'm starting to improve slowly, I thought I would add one of these things. Lets do some recap...

Yesterday was pretty good, so I was all pumped for today. I woke up and immediatly wanted to footbag, so I hang around for a bit then went ouside. Sometimes I can get clippers really well, but mostly I just suck at them. I'm still trying to figure out some of the form, it gets pretty frustrating, but I told myself I wouldn't give up on footbag. I'm thinking part of the reason why I'm sucking is because I have a sandmaster, which it kinda sucks. When I get around to it I'm gonna order a sandman. I'm also working on my flipside a lot, which seems to be improving.

I'm starting to wonder about my lavers. I don't know if they are the right shoe for me. I've been doing a small amount of research on climacools. We'll see how it goes.

Dang, yesterday seems like 2 days ago, probably because I went to bed at... hmmm... 4:30 because I was checking out footbag videos. Yeah, its pretty bad when you go to bed and you hear birds chirping. Then I had to wake up at 9-9:30ish to hang out with Zeke (not from modified). I brought my comp to fix and my footbag stuff. I showed him some videos and then we played a bit. Zeke is a hefty guy and kinda all over the place with a lot of stuff, but he seemed to really enjoy the whole footbag thing.

While I was at his house, we hooked up with some other kids, a lot of them were yonger. We pleyed PDQ - Pretty Darn Quick, which is a game where you have to jump on people's feet and stuff, pretty tricky, some soccer, and some tag. I was the fastest and most fit there, so I was trying to take it easy on everyone.

When I got home I played some footbag for 2 hours, the longest yet. I came to the conclusion that my newer sandmaster sucks. I busted out my old one and it seems to work a lot better, for kicking anyways. My calves have been working a lot, I like it.

New Tricks
Flipside atw (out to in)

Just came back from camping with a bunch of friends for 2 nights. Was pretty good. I brought my footbag gear just incase, I seem to bring it around whenever I might shred (parties and such). Kicked the bag around for a few minutes, was sucky.

Today when I got home, I was tired, but I just had to play. I ended up playing for maybe a lil over an hour. Some things seem easier when your tired or havnt't played in a long time, maybe because you arn't thinking too much.

After some hardcore sweating, heres my records & hits:

New Moves
Hopover -Strongside (seems pretty easy since my ankle is getting better)

New Records
47 consecutive kicks (all right inside, my left sucks :? but I'm trying)
24 alternating toe stalls (those are fun, lol)

Man, It seems like a long time since I last played, oh yeah, because it has! I found out not to get disouraged when I start out sucky because I'm only warming up and I always get better as it goes on.

I found some cool shoes that were simular to lavers except a lil more bulky and less of an inside curve thing. Too bad they were leather and couldn't modify them. They were by olympian or something.

My right clipper is getting better, can hit it 80% of the time. My left just plain sucks, but It'll get there eventually. I hope in a few months I'll be decent at tiltless.

New moves
Flipside legover
Fairy (it was an accident, but I'm sure I can hit it with practice)

Today I was practicing for the July sick 3 competition and hit atw out>legover>atw out. It was pretty good for me, I should have kept going though! I was recording it on my webcam and it came out laggy, oh well. I should get a real camera and upgrade my comp.

I also orderd two mr. sandmans with my simmon gift card I just got :) They should be coming in a few days.

I'll be making some footbag tshirts to sell. I just need to do some more research and some graphics. Ideas are welcome: bander87 at gmail dot com

And I should buy some more shred clothes becuase I sweat like crazy in everything.

Woke up around 2:30ish... SANDMANS??? Ran downstairs and sure enough they came. Wicked fast dilivery, 3 days from worldfootbag! I got two and didnt pick the colors because I wanted to be suprised. One is white and green and the other is blue and black.

I need to work on stalls after I dex and I should try and hit pickup again, dont do it much because it hurts, lol. I'm really close to hitting other stuff, more to come!

Lap swimming is also fun, endurance and relaxation!

New Moves
both sides in atws. -Thanks to Jedidove for inspiration on these.

New Records
39 alternating toe stalls (hit it a while ago but didnt post)

I've been schooling my atws lately. Got three in a row today. I have also been doing in atw>out atw>in atw>out atw and so on and so on. I think this will help me a lot with other dexing moves.

I'm gonna either try shredding in my bathing suit or get more boxers. There's gonna be a day when I have no boxers to wear beacause they are all drenched in sweat.

I'm just on the verge on hitting tons of tricks, feels good to be improving!

Knee has been bothering me, but I just need to do some excercises. Its not too bad. I've been going to the YMCA a lot more. I swam 1.25 miles today :)

I want to hit a double dex move soon, maybe next few weeks. Either Fairy
Leg Over, DLO, or Double ATW.

Sick 3 is almost due! I need to get going on that.

Footbag shirts are coming along well, I have a few different designs, but probably only going to use 1 or 2 of them.

New Moves
Fairy (this time on purpose)

New Records
13 Flipside out atws (my flipside is better with them)

So I've been going to the YMCA lately. The shred and swim after deal. Because it was way too hot in the gym, me and my little brother shreded around on the tennis courts, very cool. And then after 20 minutes we were like "NET??". So we played net for a little while, it was wicked fun. We can only hit it back and forth like 5 times, but it was great. Net is really fun.

Dexs are starting to seem more and more natural for me, out to in anyways.

New Moves
Pixie
Butterfly (same side) -My first 3 add!

Been sore lately and my knees are slowly getting better.

Mmmm, footbag has been going just alright. I wish I liked it more, maybe I don't as much becaue I've been playing solo the whole time? I'm hopeing to hook up with the Mass crew. It will be the first time I've seen someone else besides me shred.

Funtasticks dosn't look like a good idea to my parents anymore, oh well, seemed to good anyways.

My knee is not bothering me anymore, thats a plus. On the flipside (haha, flipside  ) I've got a shin splint on my left leg, I seriously think my leg alignment is off. I started wearing my arch support again because of it.

I started trying to link moves, basically toe stalls with atws and legover inbetween.

Oh yeah, I got permission from CFA to go ahead and create my shirts!

New Moves
Mirage Finally, almost BS

Does anyone know if mirages are easier uptime/peaktime/downtime??

For learning, most single dex moves are best to try for the peak (toptime, midtime, etc). Once you can do them on the uptime, they become a set, like an uptime mirage is a quantum set. Congrats on your mirages though! I know you had mentioned you were working hard on those in chat. :D

Technically I had two sessions today. One from 1-2am and another from around 3.15-4:30 in the afternoon, which went excellent. Ninety percent of my sessions was practicing atws; out>op out>op in>op in. I've gotton a lot better on my insides than what they were before. I need to do my flipside atws closer to by body, I hope some arn't "the".

My body is starting to get tired from footbag, which is a good thing because that means my play of intensity is getting higher.

And I am a lil disapointed/bummed that I was the only newbie that entered July's Sick 3, oh well.

And a I thank you to Zach for the comment.

Yo Ben! I forgot to check that you had a footblog! Keep kickin' man! Can't wait till those shirts are done, they look sick.

Oh dude, helpfull advice...I wouldn't work about double dex moves "too" soon. Get some 2's underneath your belt and learn to string them. Become a strong tiltess, this will help you learn 3's easier. Always school clippers too man!

I'll try and post more in yo blog. Always check mine out for new posts

Keep kickin'!
