So, I have tendonitis in my toe. I am staying off of it completely except when I have to walk to my car/at work, and I'm icing it every spare moment, but the swelling just won't go down and it still hurts like a mofo after like 3 weeks. I've also been taking 800mb ibuprofen.
Amputate?
...Other suggestions?

compression bandages, elevate it above your heart. make an ice bath and dunk your foot in it. The water will help conduct the cold.
You sure that it's tendonitis? Never hurts to get a second opinion. Just a couple weeks ago we had a staphylococcal skin infection, which can spread to other structures and cause accute inflamation, that at first wasn't visible.
A track runner came into the clinic with a severely swollen knee and said he didn't have any recollection of having twisted, pulled, or impacted it. well when we pulled out a magnifying glass, there was but the slightest, tiniest scratch on the skin above his patella. Turned out bacteria entered through the wound and he contracted a staph infection which migrated into his prepatellar bursa and caused bursitis. His doc put him on antibiotics and in 3 days it had pretty much gone back to normal. Any way, always good to get a second opinion if the primary diagnosis and treatments aren't working.

Yeahhhhh... I'm really thinking I should get a 2nd opinion now because it's still as swollen as it was after staying off it and icing/ibuprofen for almost a month. That means $$$. I guess it will be worth it if this doctor turns out to be competent...

Hey Andrew, thanks, but I read this after going to a regular doctor! They told me it wasn't infected though, at least; and it does seem like it's getting a little better. I'm going to probably make an appt. with a podiatrist in a week or two if it doesn't continue to feel better.
