Tip from the Matrix. Everybody falls the first time.
What I mean is that everybody sucks when they start playing footbag and it takes heaps and heaps of practice over a long period of time to get good. Starting is the hardest part because often even if you understand what you should be doing, you don't have the motor control over your legs to make them do specifically want you want. The only way you can gain this motor control is through lots of practice.

In a try-not-to-be-an-arrogant-fool attitude. I guess I am just lucky the somehow anytime I try something new, I am really good at right away. Not the best, but can compete. But footbag. It just isn't happening, and I struggle. I have to keep motivated. Thanks guys.

If you've made up your mind that you really want to play seriously, and that you want to get good, then just don't stop. You can never go wrong that way. The more you play, the better you get, and the more fun you have. I know it can get hard sometimes, but if a negative attitude gets the best of you, all you have to do is ask for help.

My knee's been messed up for 4 months. Not like seriously messed up, but tender to walk on and walking up stairs sucks. I'm pretty sure it's a strained ligament, but I don't have good insurance for an MRI, and they're expensive. And to be honest, I'm not big on surgery so I don't really want to get one unless I have to. Since July I've played probably 15 or so times total. I haven't played in a month because I'm really trying to let it do it's thing now.
Footbag is one of the only things in life that gives me true peace. It's so meditative and rewarding. It gives me genuine pleasure to feel the bag on my foot, and I'm appreciative of every chance I get to kick. I don't care if I have to wait, I just want to know I'll be able to eventually shred it up once again.
To shred_4_jesus, if you CAN kick, do it. Because there's people that can't like me, and would give anything for a fresh pair of legs right now.

Slight ankle tweak on my right foot from schooling clippers. I sorta slipped a bit on wet ground with stiff unmodded Lavers. It'll probably take a day or two to heal, maybe more if I ignore the pain and continue schooling.
There's no swelling, so there's no real danger, but a few days rest should help me get back into shred shape.

"Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

so it turns out i have some stupid spinal disease thats like rheumatoid arthritis. its not injuries caused by or related to footbag. im on some pain killers at the moment that help and i am to start taking some medication to halt the progression of the disease in february so i should be able to get back into footbag around that time. maybe. hopefully.
merry christmas and happy new year to everyone.

I over-strained myself on Sunday and it's hard to turn my upper torso. A LOT. The pain is mostly centered around the area above my left kidney.
I think I used too many strong-side fairies (set from my right foot) that could be the reason for this injury. A pulled hamstring maybe? I hope I can recover completely in a day or two.
