Challenge the Muffinman (38/57 -- 66%)

Post by Muffinman » 19 Oct 2004 16:43

FINE:
-bails (REALLY want to school osis)
-ducking and spinning moves
-stepping
-reverse whirls (far is fun)
-symp mirage moves (I like clip same, and the ducking version)
-DLO
-eggbeater (flip is a challenge, esp clipper variations)
-torques (they're pretty weak...)
-rev swirls (flip is weak; have done far symple, but not easy, and knee-weakening...)
-pixie sets (they're okay, jjust never do 'cause flip is WEAK and THE! -- need to learn proper form)

TRY TO AVOID BUT CAN DO:
-atomic/quantum (flip strains hip)
-drifters (same deal)
-paradons (too much weakens shins + knees -- can't do other double down moves anymore)

THINGS I AM SPECIFICALLY AVOIDING:
-whirls
-illusions
-double dexes (same leg)

WANT TO DO MORE:
-pickups
-rev swirls?
-eggbeaters
-osis/zooming/stepping out of osis
-spinning ducking
-mobius (and torques!...)
-double + inspinning + toe inspinning
-pixie tricks (and toe tricks in general too)

I can probably do stuff that I didn't post. I will try anything as long as it doesn't hurt.

EDIT AUGUST 20TH, 2008:
Hey, I am looking for some low-impact spinning and ducking challenges. I can do mirage, legover, and pickup, butterfly... that sort of low-impact easy downtime component after a duck or spin. No illusions (bad for my knees), no reverse whirls (bad for shins + ankle). Spinning ducking tricks are also great, and I love them all, but want to be more creative. Double spins and inspins are okay, but I would prefer to avoid them, or at least lots of them. Toe spinning/toe inspinning would be fun!

Also, zooming is quite tough for me, but I would love to do tons of that too and osis tricks in general. I never think to. Gyro osis is such a sick trick.

Spinning Osis>Ducking Osis>Repeat

Gyro Osis>Diving Osis>Repeat

Something to aspire to.

Yeah.. I'm so glad you are coming back erik! After your legs build up again and your body gets used to it you should be back to normal.

How about this:
spinning clipper>ducking clipper>repeat>osis>osis>p mirage>osis>osis>p mirage>osis>same osis>osis>same osis>osis>spinning clipper>osis>spinning clipper>spinning osis>spinning osis

That should work those osis both sides and not strain you too much.

How about the same string as James challenged but instead of the regular osii, do either spinning or ducking osii (diving if you want). That would be pretty challenging! :)

These were really realistic -- I like that. Thank you. I've almost got the 4 of these (Kaushik's is defintely out of the question right now...I'm just starting to learn osis :p), does anyone have any other challenges I can look forward to skooling? Please and thank youuuuuu!

I've been schooling my osis a lot lately. Here are the drills I [attempt to] do. You may find them useful:
note: when I write "osis" I mean "op osis" not "far osis"

- osis > far osis
- osis > ducking osis
- dyno > far osis
- ducking osis > ducking osis [uber cool looking drill]
- spinning osis > spinning osis (very hard I think)
- torque > osis
- pixie same osis > pdx mirage
- stepping osis > stepping osis

You can do it Erik!

Okay -- I haven't hit ANY of them yet, but I copied Johnny and made a list on my initial post. I will update as challenges are posted or as I complete them. I am going to play tomorrow and Friday and I think I will hit some of these that I never really noticed before. I'd like more challenges, though. Maybe less osis combos >_________< And really realistic but COOL combos/strings/moves? Realistic would be fun to start with. How about some reasonable sick 3 combos, too?

Well I can hit ripped warrior and blurry whirl on my non-injured side. Sam's actually sounds like the easiest of all of these combos, which is kind of sad...

Drifter > Pdx Illusion > Smoke > rpt

and after your injury feels better, make that Pdx Illusion to Blizzard

BUMP
I just watched Zeb Jackson's challenges video and I was super inspired. Please give me challenges! I'm really excited to finish off these ones that I forgot about ages ago. Most I'm pretty sure I can do. Will print them off for tonight's session.

I updated my first post with stuff I can and can't do.
YAY!

I don't understand, you want to work on Eggs, but you are specifically avoiding illusions? How do you do eggs because my approach is essentially a slightly higher set illusion and sneak a legover in at the end (all downtime).

Just want to tell you that you are big inspiration to me coming back to the game after what most people thought were career ending injuries.

Anyways,
Single moves to try to hit: Barroque, Mobius-screw, Supernova, double ducking anything, Toebius, double spinning pickup (or spinning-gyro pickup)

Combos:
 Haze > Rev Whirl > Double pickup > Rev Whirl > rpt
 Osis > Whale Tail > eggbeater > rpt
 Rev Whirl > Osis > Osis > Bubbabeater > rpt
 Spinning Ducking Butter > Zulu Clipper > Rev Whirl > rpt
 Mobius x 2, if too easy, x4
 Fog > Rev Whirl > Diving Clip > Spinning Butter > rpt
 Ducking Far pickup > ss DLO > toe spinning clipper > diving pickup > rev whirl > rpt
 Pandora's Box > DATW > toe ducking butter > rev swirl > rpt
 Marius > Ducking Clip > Diving Clip > rpt
 Spinning Osis > Rev Whirl > Gyro Diving Clip > Stepping SS Clip > rpt

Can you hit rev ups? If not, hit some.

These new ones are pretty intense, IronCladBen -- I don't know how good you think I am, but wow... Oh, thanks for the kind words, by the way :)

Well I saw some recent videos of you and read your blog seeing highlights like spinning ducking clip x 10. If some of these are out of the park I apologize.
