i saw slapnut made a post on the harry potter book, and I thought it needed a poll, so i made one.

I can't answer the poll... So I'll just do it here...

Yes, it's a decent book series that's been publicised 3 ways from sunday. Yes my spelling sucks... I'm tired, fuck off. lol. Umm... Overall, good writing, but also at a somewhat lower level than what I'm used to. I will say ont thing though.. the books suck you in... =o)

It's horrible if you live in the UK and don't like HP. With all the hype surrounding it it's just thrown in your face just before the release date.

I watched two movies and read the books. Nothing special to me about them. The Conan books were better.

I've read them all, they're great books. The movies on the other hand blew serious chunks. The main problem was condensing all that the books had to say into one 2.5 hour movie, and they've only made movies of the shortest 2 books so far, so the next 3 will have to be even more abridged. *sigh*

Or they could try the LOTR approach... MAke a long ass movie and make it appealing.

Pffft, whilst i love the LOTR movies for being top movies, they are just as bad as Harry Potter when it comes to their relationship with the original texts. You would need about 6 hours (by my estimate) to tell just one of the three books in its unabridged entirity.
Also, the Harry Potter movies were only roughly 30 minutes shorter than either of the LOTR movies.

I'm not disagreeing with you there about the LOTR movies. However, it seems they decently cover the events in the Harry Potter movie... Thank god the second movie existed... The second book just... Stopped...

Yeah it did. *makes note to steal back 2nd book from friend*

O and to be on topic, I finally got the Harry Potter book last Monday night (WHOO!!! My B-Day was on Tuesday! I'm a real teenager now!), and I read it (practically) 24/7 and finished it reeeeaally early Saturday morning.

lol, I showed my mom the part where it says 'Ron ejaculated loudly.'
We were laughing our asses off for like twenty minutes.

That was some wicked shit, though. I wish I could go to Hogwarts :(
And damn, now I have to wait another 5 years for the next book to come out :P
