Footbag player can you juggle??

It's only through repeatidly watching every footbag movie I can that I can start to understand the concepts involved in 4 Add tricks and up.
That's because, when I'm not shreading, I'm watching shreaders (all you OS guys and gals via the internet).
The same would go for juggeling.
If you want to understand those complex concepts, just study them. Watch them and then try to reproduce them in your mind. When you think you got it, then reproduce it without any equipment. When you got that, try it one element at a time.
I'm no juggler, but I'm a footbagger. I'm probibily one of the top 5 in Queensland (at just a guess - I've no idea actually), but am so far from the level of Lynton Stevens.
If it werent for the internet, I'd just be a circle kicker and would have no idea what footbag is.

You said " if I see a good juggler I just stop and watch. If I see a hacker regaurdless of good or not I can approach them". Maybe the reason you can approach them is because you are one of the best footbaggers in the world. Think of you shredding and a hackeysacker would he approach you. It is kind of the same. When you see someone who is above your skill level by far it is intimidating. You also don't have to be a comedian to be able to enjoy juggling. Look at Victor Kee the amazing juggler in Cirque du solei he has no comedy but is one of the best jugglers in the world. Comedy is a easy way to sell yourself to the entertainment industry that is why you see so many jugglers who do it. I must say thought THE best Juggler in the wold Anthany Gatto his 1 hour show is all technical juggling no comedy.

With juggling there are tons of unified games that are of equal equivelence to footbag.

Let me name a few

Combat 100's of people play at a time
3 ball circle = to shred circle
Passing clubs can do up to 10 people if not more
Joggling juggling and running (relays)
They have volleyball using clubs over a net = footbag net
They have juggling golf

I would say there is much more unification in Juggling than footbag. Footbag shred atleast is a individual thing where as passing is a group thing

Dont get me wrong I like to juggle. Props to you for loving it more than me. Im sure there are a million reasons why footbag is better than juggling and vice versa.. trust me i use to go through this endless hassle with skateboarding. Debating in my mind which was better footbag or skating. I never thought anything could compare to footbag until i hit a kickflip, and realized how learning it was so similar to the way i learned freestyle. But at worlds, I realized I was a footbagger, not a skater. I saw Vasek doing tricks, those were the kind of stunts i wanted to do.
So, for me, figuring out whats better is simple... Just ask, what would you rather be able to do? What Vasek is doing? What Anthony Gatto is Doing? or what Rodney Mullen/Tony Hawk is doing? For me its vasek....okay rodneys a real close second.

P.S. Baker, didn't gatto drop of of the face of the earth at like 11 years old after juggling like 13 rings or something crazy like that.

The juggling balls that Flying Clipper sells are nice. I made my own jugglin balls out of ultrasuede, but after about a month they are falling apart. I've held flying clippers balls and they don't feel like they would EVER fall apart. EVER. I'm doing something wrong with my sewing.

I think its how much tension i have and how i tie my knots.

Baker: Do you know whats in those white juggling balls you have that are kindof stretchy? I've never seen the pattern for them before either.

Gato did fall off tha face of the earth more like when he was in his mid to late teens. He then returned in his mid twenties and has been busting it out since. It seems he just needed to take a break from the limelight being the best for so long. I enjoy footbag and to answer your question what tricks would I rather do it would be Rodney Mullen for sure! Since I know that if I want to be able to do that I need to put more time than what I am putting in to footbag and juggling I can just appreciate Rodney's brilliance. I hope you diden't think I was personally attacking you. Footbag is still the shit infact kicked last night and hit some sick combo's.

Alex and I at the Portland juggling Festival got to meet Victor Kee and were his stage hands. He is more of a baddass juggler than you realize. I saw him doing 7 stageballs throwing them like 25 feet in the air. He is a real nice guy.

What are in my juggling balls? The balls are called fergies made by Michael Ferguson and harde to aquire. I don't know exactly what are in them my guess is some sort of fine feed or ground grain. A similar ball is what Tim Kelly juggles with and also Alex Zerbe and they are called Ruby's. Made by a little old lady the difference is that they are cordioroy. Hey matt...

Dude no offence taken and i hope ididn't offend u. And yes Matt, Rodney is the most gifted person (trick wise) on the planet. Me, Chad, and sam got to meet him at E3. Hes, one weird fellow.. He seemed happier that he was meeting us than we were meeting him. very nice guy. We also met bob burnquist and saw tony hawk. Haha sam asked rodney and bob to sign his lavers. Sam told me bob said the weirdest thing he ever signed was a condom. Sam did get them signed though. haha he kicked with them everyday. i would have put them in a glass case. bastard stole my idea i was just to chicken to ask them.

Can any of you people juggle 5 balls? I know you are all good at 3 balls but do any of you go past that and put time in to numbers?

In my opinion you all have the skills to take juggling/footbag to new levels by intigrating the two like Peter Irish and Ben West. Those guys are really the only guys taking it to new levels by combining. Get creative think of things you have never seen and implement them. That is what I love about juggling there are so many more possibilities out there. With footbag it seems like all the moves are already established and you see the same tricks over and over. Where in juggling you see so many different styles and tricks that you have never seen.

Footbag is fun though but we got to be creative with it like Allan the infamous DIZZY
