Bringing back the hack-off thread

For those that don't know what this is, you challenge someone on the forum to a hack-off. you each film 5 consecutive strings and then they are posted with a poll option for people to judge the winner.

My camera is unobtainable in storage, so we need someone to get this rolling.

I'll do it. I'm assuming this is done Stephen Barnes' style, where it's one continuous take of the 5 runs, using scout's honor to not cheat? Or is this like both parties get a week to film, and then put together their five best strings in a video? Lay out the rules and I'll participate.

It's done stephen barnes style. Prior feedback showed that viewers wanted the time that passes between strings to be fast forwarded because the videos wasted a lot of time showing players catch their breath, drink water, etc.

Here are examples:

Sounds good to me. Is it like Circle Comp, where if you drop one of your first two tries, you get a second chance at that turn?

This sounds fun :)
I could do one, but I only play about once every week or second week. I could maybe do it on Sunday, since I hope to play if my body is okay. Do you have to choose an opponent and set up the challenge before you film? I might just do it anyway. Hack-off, Ken? I'm ready to get owned!

Well, since Nathan is here for the summer, I could do one with Nathan. There wouldn't be much downtime either, and it'd be a single video. I think he could beat me too.

I seem to recall a rule stating that breaks between runs can't be longer than 30 seconds? Also, it sounds to me like you're forfeiting a challenge, Ken...

I was going to challenge Taylor Hamilton to a hack off. So what do you do, post the vids here or make a new topic? Seriously, we should be flooding this topic. Hack offs are just awesome.
I like to play.
I want to play good.

We used to make new topics.
Maybe we should re-establish some basic rules, like the under-30-second break thing, no "pass-backs" (a dropped trick counts as one of five runs), you only have one go at the five (like a one-shot), it has to be filmed after you've established your challenge and challenger/challengee, and you have to accept if you're challenged, or else (in Sam's words) "you both lose"... things like that.

I leave for Worlds in a week, and need to focus on my training. I'll do hack offs after Worlds, when I have less pressure and more time for fun stuff.

Nathan and I shot videos today. We took turns, but my turns are for the Erik Chan hackoff, and his are for somebody else (mathieu gm?). Erik, I will try and get my video up and ready before Worlds.
