I've hit Rev Swirling Symp Whirl as well. My last session I had a couple of ok looks at rev swirling symp whirling swirl. It's definitely possible.

Well, yes and no...

You don't have one move there, you've got a combo of two moves. The Pixie opp calf roll is one trick. The ducking butterfly is another. A roll is a contact, so, by my understanding, it is the end of a trick, just as a stall or a kick are the end of a trick. That is, Pixie opp calf-roll is one trick, starting from toe, dexing, and ending with a roll, just a Pixie opp inside stall is one trick, or Pixie opp inside kick is one complete trick. What happens after the roll is complete is another trick.

If a roll were not the end of a trick, then you could do rolls back to back to back to back, and a given move could have a dozen consecutive alternating contacts, justing going on and on, and where would you define the end of that move?

Anyway, its a cool combo -- I've never done it, but, the pixie calf-roll on its own has been done, and, of course, so has ducking butterfly (just, not to my knowledge, ducking butterfly from a pixie opp calf-roll).

I knew that sounnded like too long of a name for one trick. I just had no idea about calf rolls and if they were an ender. Because it doesn't feel like it. But thanks for clearing this up, Jon. Now I know :)

Has anyone ever heard of someone hitting Revstein or Ripstein to a Flapper stall? Or better yet, Flapper Stall> Rev/Rip> Flapper Stall. I hit that with a Revstein barefoot, but I've been coming close every now and again with shoes.

My favorite combo at 1999 Worlds, was Jon Schneider hitting ripstein ending in dragon, to revstein out of it.

I can't really see ripstein or revstein to flapper being hit very well with shoes.

I've hit ripstein caught on flapper before, but the dex is so thin I would give it a D minus. Borderline THE... toey and uncontrolled. Maybe it could be done well, but after hitting it once I didn't think it was worth working on. Dragonstein is much easier and nicer looking IMO.

Tonight I was doing a mini-workout of moving from dragon stall to anchor and back without setting the bag. Really easy if you try it. I'm able to do clipper>anchor while standing straight up. Anyone else? Maybe Johnny Suderman?

I was trying Reverse Dragonstein (since I'm better at Revstein) today and I was almost under the bag with my dragon, but I just need to practice Revstein/Ripstein a little while longer. And I can hit clipper> anchor standing straight up too actually. And I just tried dragon> anchor without setting. You're right, really not too bad. Never thought of that link before. I like the look of it though. Kind of reminds me of some weird ass ballet 8)

Speaking of anchors, ever heard of anyone hitting reverse swirl out of anchor? That's another fun combo if you can hit rev swirls.

Technically, the Anchor is supposed to be over your head. That is to say, one should be bending over very far when doing anchor so that your foot (and the bag) is held higher-up than your head is.

You can do an anchor while standing up straight (mostly), but, its not REALLY anchor unless the bag is at a higher elevation than your head.

Dean-O, I dig that exercise -- not really easy at all, in my opinion. I mean, yeah, it is easy to go from Anchor to Dragon, but I've always thought it was tough to go from Dragon up to Anchor -- something about that contortion is a bit of a puzzle, and a challenge to your balance. Still, its an interesting challenge and must be good practise for your balance.

Thanks Jon, I'll take that into consideration next time I do them. It seems easier to have your foot above your head because it sort of balances yourself out.

Ok, so I surprised myself and hit my first Dragonstein. I had this thread in my mind when I tried it. So thanks Chris for suggesting it and thanks Jon for being my original inspiration in the trick. Just didn't think I'd hit it this soon :D

Oh, I never realized that Jon. So is doing pushups during an anchor stall optional?
