Joulukalenteri 2019

Post by Dio » 01 Dec 2019 06:00

Welcome to the Footbag Joulukalenteri for 2019!

Image
keep an eye out for this clip of Nathan in one of this month's videos!

Day 1 is footage from USO. Pete and the Boston crew did a stellar job hosting the event in August. As you can see in the video, there was an excellent turnout with plenty of chances for high quality shred in notable locations such as Revere Beach and the Boston Common.

Links of the day hosted on my instagram account, along with instructions on the competitions for Open and Intermediate players. Post your videos to instagram with the hashtag #tpdlotd1 where the number on the end corresponds to the day of the calendar. Every link completed awards one point. For alternate modes of video proof, please contact me directly here or on Facebook or Instagram.

I haven't had a chance to see too many of the videos yet but looking forward to getting into some of them soon. Some great variety in those links, though a lot of them are out of my league!

Thanks for posting all the videos here. Not only is it more convenient than having to hunt through Facebook, it also has the benefit of creating a record of this year's Joulu that will last. That's probably still the strongest argument for Modified over Facebook. Every post/video/poll/idea on the Facebook freestyle group disappears after a few months, while Modified is for-evahhh!

I would also like to thank you for putting these here. It makes it so easy to find all of them, especially for those of us who are not on social media sites like Facebook.

Facebook is a billboard but Modified is a time capsule!
One thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to embed the youtube links in posts with clickable thumbnails - any idea what I'm missing?

LOTD

Post by C-Fan » 09 Dec 2019 13:58

I haven't had a chance to shred since the Joulu started, but I've been making mental notes of the LOTDs. They look like fun links, with just the right amount of challenge to them. I'll make a point to try some out the next time I play and post them.

Hi Dante - try putting the full youtube link (not the you.tube...) in.

That should work to get the thumbnail coming up.

Are you talking about making a post like this:

If so, that's just pasting the YT link in a post, then highlighting it, then clicking the "youtube" button immediately above right of the post. Or you can manually do it in this format:

You can also quote this post to see how the embed is done.

Feel free to disregard this if this is not what you meant.

Ah - the problem is that unlisted youtube videos won't generate thumbnails! So there is a good reason for everyone to make their videos public once they are released on the calendar. Thanks guys!

DAY 12

Joulukalenteri Day 12 - Escape from New York: Boatz-Lapse Edition. Boatz visited Boise after USO in August and created a mural in his trademark style for Bob Green (who filmed the process and gave us this incredible edit!). Enjoy the first shred sessions held in the presence of the Space Demon, featuring 10 different players!
