I just finalized everything with the Park & Recs lady, and boy howdy! Does it look promising!!!
I snapped a quick shot of the shred space when I was able to catch my breath and stop freaking out about how perfect the spot was...

Plenty of tables to chill out at, electric outlets (so we can have plenty of tunes!), a water fountain just down the hill, plenty of trees (there will be slacklining at the event), and (here's a new one that I had no idea about until today) 700+ People!!!
I'm taking Zach to go see the spot after he gets out of this meeting for his new job and I'm sure he can vouch about how sweet the set-up is later.
I'm too excited.
We're going to be talking to the hotel today and a hibachi place to figure out some more details about them and we will fill you guys in (hopefully) tonight.
This is coming together better than Zach and I had originally planned

me an you bro? i knew we would pull something crazy out of nothing... but in all honesty i must say this is really gonna turn out to be better then originally planed. that day i went to just feed some fish an ended up meeting the jugglers an called you an we fire shreded for them an won them over, ended up being the deal maker for this jam.F[uns]tylin' Eclectic wrote:This is coming together better than Zach and I had originally planned
this place is where i wanted to have the jam from the start. its a place with water fountains, bathrooms, and a really clean an beautiful scenery where me an nick often would play last fall. what we didnt know was there was a kick ass awesome tennis court up on the hill near the woods....
the venue is gonna be a trillion times better with all the people an location then we could have ever ever hoped for. we pulled off the hard part!!!!
if i can get a good number of people confirmed im gonna look into getting us a deal at a really good hibachi restaurant 2 minutes away. it is the perfect place to eat Saturday night.

on top of the hill to the left is where the court is an where nicks picture was taken. down the path to the left is a sweet bridge an stream, from where im standing in the picture as far as u can see on the path, will be lined with people.
the spot off the path to the left is the first spot the lady proposed. its not a bad idea to have a few people go down an entertain the crowds on Saturday.

this will be sundays spot. it is aweesome. water fountain is a few steps away from nick along with vending machines an a bathroom. the water is really high an muddy right now, but it will be clear an beautiful ( hopefully)
an in the case bad weather nick is gonna see that the school can provide us with indoor space, or we will move to another location close by that has pavilions.
so please please please join us
we are gonna talk to a hotel tomorrow an get prices, then get some rooms booked an split the costs. i dont feel we are gonna get a discount since the event is all local people

I just checked out hotel prices. There is a decent Days Inn 3 minutes from my apartment and it's around $59/night. Not too bad if split amongst a few guys.zachatree wrote:we are gonna talk to a hotel tomorrow an get prices, then get some rooms booked an split the costs. i dont feel we are gonna get a discount since the event is all local people other then us
And other good news we forgot to add: There will be a food venue on Saturday at the exact spot where I am standing in the above photo that Zach took.
Also: I just got the Pennsylvania Jam on footbag.org
