Hello Footbag Family!
I’m pleased to announce that, following a vote among IFPA members of the Board of Directors, JAPAN will be host for the next World Footbag Championships in 2026! I believe that thanks to this decision, Asian and especially Japanese footbag scene and the recognition of our sport will increase, and I hope that the completely new location of WFC will attract many players from all over the world.
Confirmed dates: 10-15.08.2026

City: Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan, about 50 km northeast of Tokyo
Nearest airports & access:
• Narita International Airport (NRT) - the best option for international players. There is a direct highway bus from Narita Airport to Tsukuba Center. Travel time is about 65 minutes, no transfers, and very easy even with luggage.
• Haneda Airport (HND) Haneda → Akihabara → Tsukuba (Tsukuba Express). Travel time is about 90–110 minutes. Also, Akihabara in Tokyo is directly connected to Tsukuba by the Tsukuba Express and is highly recommended it’s an area where Japanese culture, subculture, and food all come together, so it’s a great place to visit or stay.

Accommodation: Best area to stay is The Tsukuba Station / Tsukuba Center area as the most convenient base for players in terms of access, food, and transportation.

International Footbag Players Association wish you all happy and healthy New Year 2026!
