pt and manu are doubles champions
andy wolf and lise are doubles mixed champions
oxana and julia doubles women champions
oxana is womens champion (net)

tina won freestyle again

Some guys won the frisbee routine thing, they are 3 per team and a routine lasts 5 minutes, but looks more like a demo... anyways..

manu is 11th in a row in single net

we had a big room for the last night shred, it was amazing, actually the best thing from worlds in my opinion.

Hands up to Dexter for this tournament, it may not have been the best, but still he has put lots of efforts into this.

On my side I will keep posting videos from routines as fast as I can.

Hmm, you'd think that Vasek not winning would cause a bigger stir..

Whatever, it's not like anyone has any doubt who is the best hacky sacker in the world.

The final days of the rournament were just so terrible. There was the worst gym ever for freestyle and it was slippery even for the net players. It felt like playing on the ice. I felt really shame being one of the organisers. Dexter just did not bother putting there any carpet or some other reasonable surface, so I would definitely not put hands up to him. In fact it was similar to last years Euros finals in Vienna, which was also big disaster.
Damian really deserves the first place because Vasek was shaking the whole routine and he hit it a lot easier than it was supposed to be and was off the beat a lot.
I was 4th, I think Phil 5th but I have no idea about the others, the results were probably that big secret that they could not tell them to people... Nice...
Someone should really make those shirts saying "I survived W08" I would buy one for sure....

It was the weather which made us to change the location, but the backup was really bad as I wrote. Untill the finals everything was pretty Ok.
Norek (Arek Dudzinski) from Poland made BAP, his nickname is "Hi-Tech"
Vasek and me won doubles, but it was really close between us and the other Czech team because we did not do well on the ice. Wiktor and Gosia won mixed doubles.
Hopefully it is gonna be better next year in .....n

official results please?

I can't believe that Vasek didn't win the finals in freestyle. if it's the only category where he is in! (except doubles) He prepared a song and a good rutine weeks ago the turnement!
Let's see the videos...

It caused a big stir with me :P. But watching the semi finals routine video yesterday, I thought the routine he used was easily beatable and I didn't think he had the best routine in that video. The level is catching up to him.

I think Vasek got robbed.
I don't think the tournament has been that bad.

And yeah, deja vu for sure.

Perhaps justice though - given that last time this happened he was the robber, so to speak.

i wanted to make one of those shirts for me, i can for sure ask around how much it would cost for a bigger number. or...everyone makes one for himself. i will def get one of these shirts.

props to damian and norrek. so i gues there is only one freestyle event not being dominated by polish players now. :)

so
A) the first thing that bugged me was giving Norek BAP status, he just doesnt seem BAP to me at all, no offense to him.

B) holy upset batman! I was personally hoping some up and comer (vasekesque) would beat him. Crazy how things work. I honestly attribute vaseks loss to his size. Me and Jim were watching his euros shred and noticed his size, and we were saying how we really wanted to go to worlds because if there was any year to beat him it would be this year....low and behold...

grats DG

im still like flustered after seeing this last night and seeing it again, theres just something about it that doesnt seem real or something.

NO!!! Vasek was my favorite!! my first footbag video was of....um Phil morrisson, OK but my SECOND footbag video ever was of vasek, his name means something to me. It means that this sport really exists and that some people are really really good at it! where i live, im pretty sure in my whole state, 2 ppl play footbag. I have never met a real live footbag player but i felt conected when i hear the names of the best players.

I have been watching vasek for some years now , and he seemed to do a safe routine, not a go for it one at all. I was still great, but not having to judge, i will say that it is very possible to see how he lost to the polish kidds routine. Also props to dexter and ( hanka the hardest working person here), there were alot of things that were not as good as previous world championships. I had fun and would definately come again, boys you need to watch your neighborhoods and no speaka english!!!

Vasek going second is the biggest surprise in my footbag "career" -

the first one was in 2002, when that young kid from Prague beat the unbeatable Ryan Mulroney.

One can argue about the routines - Damian's routine was well done
in my opinion and choreography was ok. Vasek's was more choreographed and less technical than before - it was really
difficult to judge this year I guess. However, congrats to Damian!

As for next year's worlds, guessing from Honza's post, I'm guessing
it will be in B..... - which would be more than awesome.

Thanks everybody for their reports!!

Yes, they said they will most likely make it in B....n :)

Norek played really great during the whole week, he got to the finals of circle, won request, made finals in routines and still was shreding hard every day, wait till the shred videos are posted... I also did not expect that much skill from him....

berlin? boston? behind my kitchen? ahhhhh

i was extremely surprised when i saw that vasek lost, but honestly, it had to happen sooner or later. i agree with what was said before, his routines always seemed to be in, although still insanely high, his "safe" zone. like, no risks.

the day i saw that was the same day that michael phelps won 8 gold medals. the sports gods must really be shifting their cheeks around.

Berlin. I'm not aware that it's secret - I was told it was announced at worlds. Berlin haven't put in an official bid though. Like last year, there were no bids by the deadline (usually the WOC decides during worlds), but the word is that they'll put one in soon.
