I'm going for sure.

Asmus, is there a rough schedule of events? That might help me pick my flights. Specifically, do you know what day Freestyle events start and finish?

No, unfortunately not. Still too many uncertainties.

Our main focus right now is providing good accomodation options and getting sponsors.

Yes, have the tickets already. Visiting Finland and Norway before then Berlin and London afterwards. Can't wait.

i'm pretty certain the berlin crew will represent with a good amount of people, as it's really just a short trip.

we might cycle our way up or down, but those plans have to be worked out yet. i guess a week of cycling before a week of footbag doesn't really make sense...

VIDEO CONTEST

The World Footbag Championships is not only a professional sports tournament aimed at choosing the best footbag kickers in the world. Ten years ago the first Video Contest was held in Helsinki, Finland, and as tradition demands it, we will of course bring it back in Copenhagen. On wednesday we will take a break from the live action and spend a cinematic evening watching the best footbag videos from the most innovative filmmakers, made for the occasion.

We welcome everybody to participate, so get your cameras rollin’ or browse your archives for some good footbag footage for your Video Contest entry. Each video must be an original production and cannot have been shown anywhere before.

Deadline for submissions is July 1st. All submissions will be checked before screening and in case of too many submissions, only a selection will be shown in the screening. Contact Asmus Helms (asm@footbag.org) for submission instructions.

Videos will be judged during the screening and a top three will be announced in the after-party. Top three receive great prizes!

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Max length 6 minutes
HD resolution
Only digital files accepted

VENUE

The cinema ‘Byens Lys’ is located in the freetown of Christiania in a building know to locals as ‘The Factory’. As many other buildings in the area it previously belonged to the Danish Defence. Besides from being a cinema it is also used for lectures, concerts, and meetings.

Hello footbaggers!

In anticipation of the upcoming world championships in CPH I have a created a google sheet by which we can post our travel itineraries. The purpose of this document is to facilitate communication between players to more easily allow for coordinating group activities and traveling to and from the airport or other event sites. Here is the link to the sheet:

http://thinfi.com/mi7
Password hint: What is the common name for cross body inside stall? (rhymes with dipper)

NOTE 1: I have used thinfi.com to provide password protection and help prevent the sheet from being mined by bots when posted on modified.in or other forums. That being said – only post information that you are comfortable with sharing and only use the thinfi link when sharing with other players. If you are posting in a public place online please post the password hint along with the link otherwise if it is a private message feel free to share the password directly.

NOTE 2: Additionally, if you are travelling across Europe before or after worlds feel free to enter in your information for each destination as a separate row in the sheet as there may be other footbaggers interested in coordinating their travel plans with you.

NOTE 3: All of the columns are filterable in case you want to sort by players, event, arrival/departure days, ect (click on the down arrows beside the column headers). If you do use the filters please revert to “select all” for that filter dropdown after you are finished, so that the next player can see the full unfiltered document.

YAY! LIMITED FREE GYM ACCOMMODATION!
We have managed to set up limited free lodging in two seperate gyms.
Due to Danish fire regulation rules, only 5 nights per place is possible, hence a move is required (or something else for last nights).
The first 5 days "Osramhuset", a 5 min. walk from the site, is available July 26-31. After, "Øster Farimagsgade Skole", two 7 min. bus rides, is available July 31 to August 2.
The space in each is limited; write Rasmus at rendsvig+gym15@gmail.com to inquire about availability (registration for Worlds required)

Attention footbaggers
Online registration is now open for the 36th Annual IFPA World Footbag
Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, from July 26th until August 1st.
Registration is MANDATORY for all competitors by the deadline of July 17th.
So please register and pay now online here:
http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1417735560
This year we have tried to make it affordable for the players by having a low registration fee of 50 EUR for Open, and by providing free lodging for at least 50 people. Futhermore as part of the players' pack fruit and one free meal will be offered all days of the tournament.
There will be NO on-site or late registration. Whether you are a
competitor, a sideline player, a volunteer or a member of the staff,
please register and pay here today:
http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1417735560
If you're a non-competitor, you're still asked to pay in advance to
simplify check-in and help confirm headcounts, but you may register
online and pay when you check in to get your players' pack.
You can pay the registration fee by PayPal or bank transfer. But we strongly recommend PayPal.
Registration takes just a couple of minutes, so there is no reason not
to do it now. Freestylers competing in routines are able to
upload routine music directly on the registration form before the registration deadline! If you don't have it now, you can always return after paying and upload as you need to.
If you don't have a credit card or can't use a bank transfer, you may
ask a friend to pay on your behalf. For PayPal, simply ask your friend
to go to your registration form, sign in to your footbag.org account,
and then submit the form and choose PayPal, and then sign in to their
PayPal account to complete the payment.
You can still change your registration any time you like, before the
deadline of July 17th. This includes finding/changing partners up
until the very last day of online registration. If you have already
paid and you make a change that affects your total fee calculation,
then we will either refund or collect the difference when you check-in
for the tournament in Copenhagen.
If you don't have a partner, that's okay -- go ahead and register and
pay without a partner for each event you need a partner for. Then,
when registration closes, we will send an email to each registrant
giving a list of available partners who have registered so that you
can pair up.
It will be up to you to confirm your partnership with your partner,
and to update your registration form. (It will be possible to
add/remove partners for 48 hours after the deadline. But you may not
make any other changes at that point.)
Please also consider the lodging options. We have managed to set up limited free lodging in two separate gyms. Due to Danish fire regulation rules, only 5 nights per place is possible, hence a move is required. The first 5 day gym "Osramhuset" is within 5 min. walk of the event site, available July 26th to July 31st. The latter "Øster Farimagsgade Skole" available July 31st to August 2nd, requires two 7 min. bus rides. The space in each is limited; please contact Rasmus Rendsvig (rendsvig+gym15@gmail.com) to inquire about availability (registration required).
The Hostel closest to the event site is "Sleep In Heaven", a youth hostel with prices low for Copenhagen. Their 123 beds are mainly in dormitories with an age limit of 35 years. Their private rooms have no age limit.
The tournament itself will take place in Nørrebrohallen which is located at the urban Red Plaza in a lively multicultural area in the centre of Copenhagen. Our goal has consistently been to organize a great tournament for the players and to host a Worlds that also has a broad public appeal. These are the standards we wish you to evaluate the tournament on.
For more options on lodging, to learn more about our partners and for the latest information and updates please check the official Worlds 2015 website at: http://www.footbag.org/worlds2015/
If you are interested in volunteering or being on staff, please
contact Kim Mortensen at mortensen.kim@gmail.com
I hope to see you all soon in Copenhagen.

Nis Petersen

registered, but only for request and 2-square, as i arrive wednesday evening.

and now for something completely different:
would any of you americans that come to worlds be so kind to bring me a pair of rod lavers? (shipping and customs unfortunately double the price if i order them directly)
i'd paypal you the money in advance, and then invite you for beer or whatever!

i'm hoping anybody reads this after all.
