I don't think I'll be hitting Melbourne this hols...maybe the next.

so yeah..winter is upon us and I don't like it at all..my room is the coldest room in the house, it's bad news.

been generally unhealthy lately

not enough exercise
not enough footbag
too much booze
stressing on little things
not enough money

tomorrow I'm going to go to Centrelink and get an advance payment...this should sort out the bottom issue.

Some of the others were resolved today...I had a kick...although I would describe it as "POOR", it was still good to be actually kicking...I kinda picked up towards the end, but I generally struggled. It was pretty cold and hard to warm up.

Kicked a soccerball with my housemates, that was good...jsut to be out of the house generally.

Went out last night, got VERY drunk. Didn't pay for many beers. Good times. Australia vs Japan tonight in the World Cup...I predict a 2-1 victory for Australia with goals for Bresciano and Aloisi. Anyway..should be fun watching. hmm...it's not for another few hours...I'd say I'll be fair drunk by then.

I've been drinking a lot lately.... I can't say this is much of a change, but maybe I've been going at it too hard.

A Stab In The Dark played their last ever show on Friday, with I Killed The Prom Queen....it was one of the worst of all time. Bad news. I also sustained much damage to most of my body in the pit....including what I at first thought was a dislocated finger...but it wasn't.

I just cooked this awesome steak...it was incredibly tasty. I was in a real shitty mood before, but it cheered me up well and good. I should cook more often, it's something I really do not do enough.

So it looks like instead of Melbourne Sam and I shall just go down the coast....this option is closer, cheaper and we actually have places to stay....much sweeter deal.

I think this post has about one sentence about footbag in it....good post!

I'm thinking next year I'm gonna do some travelling...hopefully stop over at many many footbag tournaments and also massive music festivals....and other crazy stuff.

I can't wait to have piles of money so I can do what I like whenever I like

(hopefully this happens some day!)

winter = cold

I had a kick today, but really, it was WAY too cold to bring out anything productive

the only things that were any good were

whirl bsos
DATW in on one side and out on the other in the one run

I just couldn't warm up and get into my game, and I was even wearing a hoodie.

had a kick today, went pretty well for how I've been playing lately.

I hit a couple of new moves

fairy osis
flip spinning osis
spinning clipper bsos

generally my game is ok. Kinda below average...whenever I try to drill moves and make them more consistent I generally drop or get bored of the trick.

I did hit 4 ducking osis which was nice.

Now for a story that should probably go in the "does footbag get you laid" thread but a) that thread is lame and b) I didn't get laid......... normally I would be disappointed, but I do have a girlfriend, and we are going strong and I wouldn't want to do something stupid to fuck it up.

Anyhow...this semester I did a class called sports sponsorship. We did our project on a pitch to Red Bull to sponsor next years Australian titles...which I need to make some tweaks to and send to Jeremy.
Anyhow, we had to do a presentation in class...and I did a little demo as part of it.
Our last exam was on thursday and I drank all day (including before the exam) and all night in celebration. This girl Anna that was in that class was out...and we started talking because she's all like "you did the footbag thing" and started doing the motions pretending to play footbag.

So anyway, we were talking for ages, just hanging out, talking about punk music and stuff and then later in the night she went to kiss me and I kinda turned away..she was like "girlfriend?" and stormed out of the place. Funnily enough, she stormed out with this guy who lives next door, so she could well have ended up in Bruce anyway

But yeah, I was good and didn't cheat...I'd say if was any of the other girls that I've been out with, I probably would have just hooked up with the girl...but none of those relationships were ever as serious as the one I'm in now.

But it would have been a good story due to the footbag reference...but oh well.

I'm on holidays now...I may or may not have more time for shred action. Sam and I are going to Bega for about a week, it's about time I got out of Canberra, I haven't been anywhere for ages.

I'm going to Sydney at the end of the hols for hardcore 06...should be able to get some shred action in.

and Melbourne for SIKE YOUR MIND!!

wings, THE ABANDONMENT, jungle fever, her nightmare, 50 lions and many more...gonna do a big road trip...well, by train..with some other Canberra kids. I look forward to that. Also hoping to get some shred in there.

That's it for this episode...til next time...

had my first good solid kick in a while today

by good and solid that does not mean any of the tricks were good, or solid. Well some were...but not many.

I hit a couple of nice blenders.

I've been working on blur, and not really getting that far...I'm getting a bit closer now.

went to Bega for a week with Sam. There were some good times, there were some bad times. So overall it was ok. The best part was when we played mini golf.

had a really suss night last night

dodgy dudes trying to fight me....girls trying to seduce me when I already have a girlfriend...people losing their shit....people crying...people getting angry. yeah it was pretty gay really

and Bacardi 151 is the roughest shit I ahve ever drunk, and I do not intend on ever doing that again.

Today for a fair portion of the day my stomach felt like it would physically drop out from my body. good times...

I kicked today. it went ok. Didn't hit anything new, or special, but did hit some lengthy runs.

I'm going to Sydney on the weekend.

I may even go as soon as Wednesday, my time here in Canberra has been seriously dull and unproductive. And nothing seems to satisfy me. The weekend just went by also did not contain much excitement at all.

I've been falling asleep at all these random times, just because I don't really have anything better to do...and just feeling fairly unhealthy generally.

I haven't hit anything new, though today pdx dlo came reasonably easily which was nice.

I'm gonna put on an ACT titles in the first weekend of December. Hopefully I can make a good event. Footbag, especially in Australia is such a small sport, but is something that could easily grow a little more.

By that time I will be finished uni, which is a really scary thought, as I will have to go and get myself a real job. Ick!

harrrrrr

http://www.orlyowl.com/owlmedley.gif

blah.

going to some shows on the weekend

last Omerata show
and the last Breaking The Broken show with The Dead Walk!, who have a new album out, which I would like to buy..a lot. But I don't have any money. Well I have a little, but not enough for that.

today I was at the skatepark and my skates were starting to hurt, so I took them off and had a shred. I wasn't expecting much, but I came close/hit some really cool things

I hit

ducking whirl
diving whirl
dimwalk>whirl bsos
and some nice lengthy runs

which was good because I was barely trying, and wasn't wearing shred shorts or anything.

I also came close to some good stuff
such as

ducking rev swirl

that's all I can remember actually.

I want to try diving blender or diving torque, I reckon I could hit one of them.

I'm going to Sydney tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it...kinda. I don't really have a whole lot of money to spend up there, which is a little bogus. Probably like $50 for like 5 days. I've already got my bus ticket and I get paid on Monday, so that should be ok. I don't really have a lot planned. But lately I've been bored with Canberra...so yeah...it should be good.

I went to Sydney

I got lots of injuries

currently

my knee and my eye are hurting.

I smashed my big toe trying toe set ducking rev swirl, it really hurt.

Last night was the last ever Omerata show, it was amazing.

our zine got a mention in Drum Media.

I'm back in Canberra now, got home last night at about 4am. Going back again next week. Left pretty much everything I own up there, which was a little on the silly side.

I haven't really kicked in the last week, I left my lavers in Sydney and wasn't really in the mood at all. Probably good to rest my body a bit. And after hardcore 2006, it'll probably be another week of rest. I'm really sore. Oh well. That's what you get. My mum told me today "Daniel, you shouldn't go to these hardcore shows, they sound dangerous".

Uni is back on tomorrow. Final semester. Which means I will have to get more drunk than ever before, more often, and still, get better grades. That's pretty much how it worked next semester.

Probably organising some national canoe championships for my internship, that should be interesting.

In a typical display of Canberra-ness, I went over to my friend Ben's house, only to see that this girl that tried to hook up with me a while back, and then stormed out of the room (that story is just a few posts down)....now lives next door to Ben. I found this amusing.

Machine Head are the greatest band ever. True story.

Going to do an ACT Titles in December. There may be some sort of cheerleading demonstration as part of the event, as one of my exes is a cheerleader.

I saw my aunty today randomly on ths bus in Sydney, that was kinda weird.

My entire body hurts, a lot. I don't think I have anything else to report for the moment.

I ordered a new pair of lavers. It's been about 6 months since I began saying, yeah I'll probably get them next week.

I may just not kick until they come in the mail.

Uni is back on and it's my final semester, so things are pretty hectic.

I'm doing a couple of internships

1) Canberra Raiders. Doing sponsorship and membership reports for that. So far we haven't done much, but I have received a jacket ($150), polo shirt ($70) and a ticket to yesterday's game where the raiders beat the dragons ($20). So that's all good by me :P
Good old Green Machine.

2) Burley Griffin Canoe Club. Going to be organising some variety of national 24 hour relay, I'm having a meeting tomorrow, so it's not all sorted yet. But basically I think they get everybody to race on their home water, and who ever does the most laps of a 5km track gets to be the winner.

Otherwise....things haven't been too bad. Went to a pre-season a-league match the other day, it was pretty mediocre. Did a footbag routine as an impromptu act at a talent quest the other night. I was really, really drunk, was wearing pants and not wearing lavers, so that was always going to end in tears.

The rent for our house is going up, so I may just start shopping around for a new location.

I got my tax back and now I have a little bit of money. YAY!

I had a kick this morning. I haven't kicked in about a week, so it was good to stretch the legs out.

I wasn't planning on kicking until I get my new lavers, but it won't be for about 2 more weeks and that's too long.

So I'm thinking about going to Sydney on the weekend and going to audition for this "Australia's got Talent" thing with Ian. I'm still not decided, but will have to decide today. I think if we went in it together we could pull off something pretty decent.

Today's kick was mainly about getting my legs back in the motion, and also, seeing which tricks I had the most solid. At first it was really worrying, I was dropping most tricks, but eventually I warmed to the task, and started hitting some solid runs. Nothing new, but that's not really a concern for me at all.

Anyway. I need to go to uni now. Adios

New lavers arrived in the mail yesterday. It's nice to have a shoe with a fucking sole on it!

Been kicking a fair bit the last couple of days, trying to get better bsos-ness on tricks like smear, dlo, drifter, etc, and all that seems to be going fine.

I don't think I'm going to mod my lavers for a while, possibly ever. My last pair just got so torn apart and stuff, it was bogus. I'm also incredibly lazy.

Me and Sam broke up yesterday. It was the most mutual of mutual breakups. We're still hanging out and stuff, just not "being together" anymore. This has been coming on a while, but it's still not so easy to deal with. Been kicking mainly to put my mind onto something else.

Uni is still there. It's pretty much a pain in the arse. I finish at the end of the year, which is a pretty crazy thought. I'm doing some good internships at the moment, it'll be awesome to have "Marketing Assisitant: Canberra Raiders" on my resume

(even though they lost to fucking souths!!! who does that...sheesh)

today was a nice day

did some kicking, did some reasonable runs considering just how hungover I was feeling. Any sort of spin trick never really works out so well with a hangover.

Had a ridiculous night last night, got so wasted. Some of the people I was with were dancing on tables and shit. I think I might have been too. It was pretty nuts.

I am coming close to hitting a few three dex moves, I'm interested to see which will come first.

I would say

pixie same dlo, enterrage, pixie same eggbeater, smog, flurry all have some sort of chance of me being able to hit them, some stronger than others. Which would be nice. I'm kinda sup

I've been doing a lot of ducking/diving tricks lately. They're fun to do, and don't take much energy and just feel smoooth. Especially ducking osis.

I need to hit longer runs. That would be nice. With bigger tricks. I keep saying I'm going to train harder for footbag. It never seems to happen. I turn 22 in under a month. I finish uni at the end of the year. I'm getting old and it's kinda scary. Ewww.

had a reasonably good session today. I've been playing a lot lately and it's starting to show.

Today I hit butterfly reverse swirl, for the first time. I hit it a couple of times, but never got to seal the deal. It was the kind of move that really made me feel like I was actually making some progress.

Went to uni today but couldn't resist the urge to spend the day in the bar. oops.

haven't posted in a couple of weeks

I ahve to a lot of work experience for uni, and it seems like I'm forever working, always for no money.

Had a stall for the UCU footbag club at Open Day yesterday, that didn't go as planned, though I did beat Rhys in four square, which is actually a rare feat. Went to the raiders match after this and they lost. It was pretty much a bad day all round, but I won't bother going into details.

today I had a quick kick and I hit ducking clip>spinning clip rpt. That was about all for the highlights.

I'm going to Sydney next weekend, it may be possible that I can get a shred in, but I'm not really too sure what will go down.

I got floor tickets for Tool :D. I stayed out through the night to get them, so glad it all worked out.

been playing a little bit of footbag. Played with Dyalan in Sydney the other day. It was pretty good, even though I forgot lavers and shorts, I was still in decent form.

Sydney jam is in a couple of weeks. Should be fun.

I got a job. Taking kids on tours at the AIS, it's pretty fucking rad. I finish my training tomorrow, so get to strike out on my own. Today a whole bunch of kids got me to sign autographs, that didn't know that I was just a nobody. It was pretty awesome.

I have a new girlfriend. Her name is Kate. She's great. And cooks me lots of dinners. We're going to a family reunion of her family next week. Should be pretty interesting and hopefully there will be heaps of food and beer.

Finish uni really really soon. Crazy.
