My first five add was double symp tap. I think that's a pretty odd first five...but I think it's definitely a solid five. Still no sixes...I'm thinking flailing same nova, just throw an extra dex at the end.

i still can't hit torques...they just elude me. Stepping osis'll just have to do for now. Double symp tap is a good move...what really helped me is watching Pinkus' flailing...the key is letting your setting foot go behind the dex foot is sort of a clipper like position. It makes the set a shitload better for some reason. I can't hit it in a run though...way too much energy exerted...heh.

Hmmm... :? If your setting foot actually sets in the clipper position it kinda negates the first dex, and makes the move almost like a non-antisymposium zoid set symposium mirage. I might just be misunderstanding your description though, if you set it before your leg hit clip position then it's all gravy. Bah, technicalities.

Yeah, that's just a misunderstanding...watch Pinkus doing some flailing move and you'll see what I mean. It's after the dex.

I found an example...watch Chris' clip from Sam's video "Sessions". When he does the flailing symp eggbeater at the end you'll see what I'm talking about if you watch his setting foot during the flailing set.

Yay! My first 5 add move:
toe > same in [DEX] > (no plant while) op out [BOD] [DEX] > op clip [XBD]
[DEL]

I can do it really smoothly too. This is a pixie symposium butterfly delay
right? Does it have a nick name? I only ask because Pixie Symposium Butterfly
is a mouthfull. I have also hit smear and hopover swirl. Ok, I don't usually
brag but I felt that the occation called for it. Anyway, I'm still in Chicago
SCOTT!

So does that mean symposium butterflys are possible or is that message wrong or something? If it isn't wrong, my Pixie Ducking Symposium Butterfly is a 6... :)?

Butterfly CAN be symposium.

Post by Senor Grommet » 02 Aug 2003 19:37

People Please!!!!!!!:
Symp Butterfly IS possible. Those who say it is not are dumb. Just because it does not seem any harder than its not symposium version does not mean that it is not symposium. Some moves cannot be symposium: clipper, swirl, etc. Some moves can be symposium: pixie, mirage, butterfly, fairy. these moves can be symp. because the leg that dexes is not the leg that delays the bag, thus it's plant can be withheld, making it a symposium move.

It is wrong to say that butterfly cant be symposium. You are confusing the minds of young shredders and other weird people who are trying to learn footbag lingo for some crazy reason.
