Jimmy kimmel was totally good exposure.. the first time u see vasek bust some moves somewhere after about 4 or 5 tricks you can hear a short "Ooh" go through the croud. But i dont quite understand why they laughed after they explain his nickname superglue guess his accent might be funny? look on his face? Jimmy kimmel saying "..because u can control the ball so good it sticks to you"? ..oh well .. GOOD EXPOSURE! GOOD GOOD GOOD! :D :D :D

I've given myself some time to think the issue over. At first I was offended and thought the exposure was bad, but after watching it again my oppinion has changed. I think that the show itself is super lame and I would never watch it again, but having Vasek on there was SICK and he did a great job with it. They acted in a very stereotypical American fashion, but stereotypes need to come from somewhere I guess.

All in all, I definately think that it was good exposure. Huge thank-yous to Stevie and Vasek for all their efforts. That's another accomplishment to stuff under you belts. Much Props.

I have never been to the US, but in Australia we actually expect professional comedians to make jokes. Maybe it is different over there?

theres been a lot of anger at Jimmy Kimmle for this lol. Its just show, i think it was a lot of exposure for footbag. Think of all the kids out there that went :o whoa. I wanna be able to do that. And then went on the internet and checked it out. They even said "FOOTBAG" on there before hackey sack. so.. yeah i can handle the jokes, which were jokes. not intended to be really offensive.

two sayings come to mind:

any press is good press.

beggars can't be choosers.

no sense in feeling angry @ lopez. he's catering to the common denominator. and while he references classic hacky sack stereotypes, anybody who actually sees vasek perform knows that there is a difference in dedication & skill, even if they can't understand what that difference is.

i think it's a positive mentality to embrace the term hacky sack & all the jokes / derisiveness that come with it, as opposed to the outright rejection that many players give due to negative stigma. instead of using words to express "it's called footbag, not hacky sack", use your feet & ppl will gain a stronger understanding on their own that there is a real difference between circle kicking & shred.

there has not been much light shed in the media about the party / community scene, which is a huge part of footbag. in the future i could see this being a gateway to shedding some more of that tired, old hippy slacker image.

i liked the show, as it was kind of a conflict of the progression of footbag, and the common age old stereotypes. the more people see that the sport is changing & growing, the less power those stereotypes will hold. in time, they will disappear ( so long as they don't continue to be true :P ).

Oh snap! It's happening! Footbag is taking over!

I think they made a mistake on the website since he has already left the country.

I think it was pretty awful what they said about the senator (?) and his wife. Also I don't think that homosexuals would've enjoyed the show either. So maybe couple of jokes about footbag isn't such a big deal? :)
