6th annual Montana Freestyle Jam

Post by TwistedTorque » 08 Nov 2008 09:25

The 6th annual Montana Freestyle Jam will be held in Missoula, Montana on May 23, 2009. This day is confirmed with our venue (same as last 3 years), so feel free to make plane ticket purchases now. The Freestyle Jam is a collaborative display of freestyle arts that focus on human movement. We will have footbag, juggling, fire arts, and breakdancing. Every year has been the biggest year yet. A weekend of planned events for the footbaggers will happen from May 22nd-24th. If anybody wants an extended vacation in Montana, just let us know. Choose to stay for the days after as opposed to the days before as they will be less hectic. We could go hiking, camping, folfing, and maybe whitewater rafting depending on conditions. Check out last year's (not-updated) website: http://mtfreestylejam.com

I'd love to make this....it's been a few years and I dont want to miss any more Montana jams. It's 4 days after my birthday and since I'm in the west now it'll be easier for me to attend so I'm gonna really try and hit up this event. My experience at the Montana Jam has been nothing short of epic, so lets rock it out this year!!

How is Toebius running these days? Cheapest flights are still Spokane.

I'd say put me at 50% likely at this point.

I actually donated Tobius the Topaz to charity about a month ago. I was driving to Missoula and my transmission went out. I couldn't even shift out of 1st until I was going 60mph.

Worst drive ever.

I think the Green Cup is on the same weekend, but I'm torn. I want to come to this one, because it's been the shit for the past 3 years of my life, so I'm setting this one on a higher priority.

Is 11 weeks enough time for Kevin to recover for the Jam?

I just realized that this is going down in May, late May, a couple days before my birthday on the 28th. I was sitting here thinking it was in early-ish April, which I probably wouldn't have been able to make.

Fuck yes. Fuck yes.

this isnt far off, WHERES THE HYPE!
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

I was actually wondering where everyone will be staying this year. I know you guys don't have that one house anymore. Are you still in the same house Evan? I'm probably bringing a couple friends and I'd just like to know if it's all good.

I hope someone is down to jam some music during the weekend. I'm bringing everything I have.

I believe people are staying at Jere's house. But don't quote me on that. It's a big house that's on the other side of town .

Hype! I honestly don't even know what's going on for the jam, so no updates.

So the Jam is coming along nicely. Everything is falling into place. This last month will be busy, but that's to be expected. Again, this Jam looks like it will grow yet again this year. The Freestyle is strong in this town right now. The music lineup is good. The beer taps will flow with the tastiness and fun will be had by all.
The Footbag tournament will contain Rippin' Run, 2 minute competition, and Circle.
Who all is making it this year? It's going to be great to have everyone out again.
Also, my extreme apologies to anyone who is conflicted between this Jam and the Green Cup. It was not my intention to conflict with this at all. We went to schedule our venue earlier than we ever have and had the date snagged from us. We tried many variations after learning of this but Saturday, May 23rd was the only date that would work.
If you use Facebook, please check out the event page, and pass it along to friends.
If you use Twitter, please follow @FreestyleJam. If you don't use Twitter, you can still text "follow FreestyleJam" to 40404 for updates.
On a sad side note, I probably won't be shredding to hard, if at all, with any of you as a harsh ligament injury in my left ankle has knocked me down to minimal playing for the past 2 months. Sucks, but whatever. More juggling and fire spinning for me I guess.
