I tried to get my presentation done in time to leave friday and stop by the set of the movie.
UNfortunately, my boss doesn't believe in letting people get work done ahead of time, and has decided to stick me with the procratinator and tweedle fuck so I can add their shit to my presentation.
Now I am stuck here till tuesday, will have to drive straight through to San Diego, and be pissed off for the whole conference as usual.
total bullshit. I had my shit together and ready for press a week ahead of time, but now I have to start all over.

Recap taken from my blog
I had a pretty good time down in LA acting, filming, laughing, talking, hacking, eating and shredding. It was great to be in the company of Sam, Chris, Lon, Emily, Amelia, and Dat and Anne.
Of note, i had only a couple of cool runs because shred was not emphasized on this trip. However, i DID manage to hit fury BSOS and janiwalker BSOS in the same run!!!! That was awesome! I also managed my second 7-add move: frontside fury (7 with an x-dex). I hit a couple frontside flurries too. It was fun. Ill write something more detailed in the days to follow.
Before i forget, I hit fog>jonny quest. I also hit a whirring swirl for Chad D and Ted A. When I said i didn't know if it had been clean, Chad said he thought it was super clean. Hmm, what else, I hit symp blazing far legover and symp blazing pdx illusion. Also, on request from Chris P., I barely managed to hit a ragged frontside atomsmasher>backside blur.
Ted Anderson, ted on these boards, came only for the evening 4-square shoot, later to be detailed. He only did about 20 minutes of shredding and really wasnt in footbag shape due to many long weeks of Ph.D. work. It was really nice to see him though. he always has the craziest stories about his place of residence, which for those of you who dont now, is basically on the top of a fucking mountain range. he fell into a river with his gf and got swept down a mountain side whil trying to get to his cabin recently! AND he got snowed in by 5 feet of snow too! Flashfloods like crazy on Mt. Baldy! Props to you for surviving Ted!
I saw lon hit 12 pdx torques in a row! I saw him hit the nicest, easiest looking scorpion's tails I have ever seen. Even better, i saw him hit a run with dolomite, shaft, superfly (bs), blackula, and superduperfly in it! I saw him hit 13 5s in a run. i saw him hit inspinning osis after inspinning osis, and i saw the easiest looking spinning mobius ive ever seen! he was throwing down runs of 30 moves or more on average, and only less when he was really testing the limits of his game and his RECOVERING KNEE. heh, all that with a knee not at 100%.
I feel bad because I cant really remember a damn thing that Chad was hitting in the circle i was in. Sam said he hit an awesome big apple, with a very uniqe style. Later tho, Chad and I had a 2 man circle whene he was busting out some sweet 2-move combos he normally doesnt try. I saw him hit atomic whirl>flurry. janiwalker>flurry??, atomic whirl>janiwalker.
Chris was sick (literally) but still up to his usual crazy dexing frenzy. I saw him hit things like backside fog>backside smog>backside pigbeater, or someting along those lines, symposium mantis, and much more. Too bad he was sick.
I was impressed with Sam C's game. He looked stronger than ever before, or at least stronger than he has looked for a long while. He hits mobius both sides, still good spinning and ducking. Nice fairy sets, atomic sets, emerging quantum sets too! He was able to hit toe ripwalk out of fairy ss legover bsos, which was quite an accomplishment! he played till he dropped. he hits hopover swirl with ease, swirls with ease, and even some pdx drifters. Very clean barflies too! He is happy with his footbag game right now.
I was really impressed with Emily K's game, even though she had hurt her ankle this week. She hit two new moves anyway! her positive attitude was quite inspiring and I am thankful she was there. it is great to hang out with her and she is a truly gifted actor. Its like she takes on the role and makes it her own-melding herself with the director's vision of the role Laughing
Dat's knee was hurting so he did not shred much at all, but he did catch some great stuff on camera. He too, is a natural in front of the camera. i always enjoy hanging out with Dat because he is truly a genuinely nice person. He brings a quiet excitement to his surroundings. He got pretty darn close to ducking ps mirage, which would have been his first 5 add. he is equally close to pdx torque, and possibly ps whirl.
Amelia, my shred partner here in Tucson, as well as my girlfriend, made the trip out with me. i am very thankful for that. We had this awesome car ride out there, 8 hrs or so, which seemed much shorter thanks to her. Bigs ups to jackbag for fixing my tape player within 5 minutes of stepping foot into my car, which had been broken for at least 3 months thanks to a jammed cassette. She hit cassette fix>boyfriend thankful, her first 4>4 combo Laughing On an other note, she played fairly well in circles, much better than the last time anyone from CA had seen her shred and they were all very impressed! I am most glad that she had a lot of fun while on the trip, especially when kicking with others. That was big- not getting too discouraged when you aren't hitting things you know you're capable of. She definitely hasd the potential to be a guiltless shredita some day; she just doesn't have the time to devote to the sport. Whatever time she commits to footbag is a blessing.
now, a quick recap of the filming that went down. We went to the ______ ___ to film the first scene because the ____ _____ ____ ____ was rented out for a private party. Lon, Dat, Emily, and Chris shot their scene there. That was the location Emily hurt her ankle at. it was so scary when it happened; I was watching her try a new move and her body didnt do what it was suposed to do. She hit the deck so hard. It was awful, but it turned out to be worse that a previous injury, which was hopeful.
The same day, we fimled the second scene at ______ ____ in Glendale. I was in it, along with Chris and Emily. There was some brilliant acting and impromptu dialogue that was immortalized in that location. Chris and i had a sweet battle, but the battle between Emily and I was epic. maybe you'll see it someday.
Later that night, we filmed the third scene, the underground foursquare tourney, in which more than 12 people participated and acted! It was crazy. What a long shoot! At least 4 hours. Sam really is a creative genius, althogh you wouldnt know it over these boards. his personality and vision must really be experienced in person to understand the man behind the creativity. All in all, there were 3 shoots in 1 day, and a total of about 7 hours of footage taken. It was arduous.
Other than fimling, we hung out and had a lot of fun talking, watching videos, stitching, hacking, shredding, and eating. it was really nice to get to know Lon a bit better.
the next day, we had some sweet hacking fun in a 6 man circle and then we shredded for about 2-3 hours. A lot fo the shred was detailed at the beginning of this post. Im off to bed now. I'll prolly wrte some more when I feel motivated to do so.
lastly, to any shredders who read this post, I urge you to support OOPS footbag and especially Sam Colclough, who gives his heart and soul to footbag and the video making process. He has the most creative and innovative videos in footbag right now and he deserves incalculable props from every member fo this forum, except for when he makes dumb posts Wink lease support this awesome movie when it comes out on video by buying a copy for yourself or anyone who loves good comedy, cool shred/fight battles, and awesome, epic shred!
