If you're somewhat competent with a computer, you can avoid almost every virus on a windows machine. Yes, linux is a lot better about viruses, but I have only gotten 1 virus in over 2 years with my pc, and then it took about a minute to remove it (stupid Sasser programmers had it show up in your msconfig startup programs tab, so you can just uncheck it )

Can't really be the judge of it, but great graphics and almost no games doesn't really equal out :(
travismontoya wrote:6.) Don't have to by for half the programs you use!
THE BEST REASON FOR LINUX!!!
travismontoya wrote:7.) *nix has been around for years, and has proven its stability! Really no more FREEZING of programs and crap.
Again, competence = no headaches (I probably freeze up once a month or so)

Another good reason.

And I think partition magic isn't a very hard program to use at all, if you just spend a good half hour researching partitions or finding a good walkthrough for it (if you are really clueless). The program is so inuitive, you'd be hard-pressed to mess up.

Yeah, I think linux is an awesome idea, but it IS a lot of work and sorta a niche OS. I have all the respect in the world for people that can use it effectively, but I can't. :(
