MAKE ME GOOD

Post by UvaFootbagger14 »

Ok, so here I am... the Footbagger NOOB. haha o well, ive been just messing around with footbags for a while now, but just very recently my friends and I got very inspired to take it more seriously. Personally I can keep the sack in the air for a decent amount of time, but i can only do extremely basic stuff (kick it, and some times jump and cross one leg over or under my other and kick it) I dont exactly have the best footbag in the world but i have broken it in enough to make stalls a hell of a lot easier.

I have Addidas Sambas (orange 8) ) which are pretty fat in width so they are okay... since i dont have a job, i rely on my parents for shoes, and my dad doesnt want to buy me a pair of rod lavars for "a stupid game" because they have no traction so i can't wear them at any other time

Next, I have pellet filled footbags that are woven, but I really have my eye on an abshire 32 panel.. is this smart????

and last.. what are some basic (but challenging moves for beginners) that I should try working on?? I mean, i dont have a problem kicking it, I have problems getting my legs over, or getting my feet over....

HELP ME...

Thanks :D

I think going from a woven bag to buying a 35 dollar bag is a big jump that I wouldn't make at least until you got some lavers. a Nice cheap bag is the Mr. sandman, which you can find on www.freedomfootbags.com or http://worldfootbag.com/catalog/

work on inside stalls on both sides... working on both sides will be worth it. I regret not working on both sides enough.

if you start doing around the worlds, and good way to train is to circle your foot around a bottle. that's how I learned how to do doubles(atw)

show your dad some videos of vasek. soon he will realize that it isn't just a game, but a sport that people train for and take seriously.

I also suggest buying a mr. sandbag, it will treat you well as a beginner.

Yes please get a mr sandman. DO NOT buy any bags from worldfootbag.com. Most of them are very bad quality. Buy from freedomfootbags.

You have no question but to buy a Mr. Sandbag from http://www.freedomfootbags.com/ , just do it :!: , then after you get lavers and some more money Abshires are extremely good.

Wait, "Lavers have no traction"? what is your dad talking about they're tennis shoes, they're made for having good grip while doing quick side-to-side sprints, how much more traction do you want. If you want to go hiking buy boots.

For tricks get all your stalls down first (ie. toe, inner, outer, then later clipper), also try doing ATW, they are the key compenents in most freestyle tricks. (You will probably get ATW before you get clipper)

They have pretty poor traction.. I think they're made to use on a grippy tennis court surface.

once you play footbag enough you don't need traction, you have balancejavascript:emoticon('')
Rolling Eyes

but really, the traction doesn't go away until you get past the colored(blue, green, red, whatev) rubber to the white rubber

If you were looking at buying an abshire use the cash to get shoes instead. Buy the shoes first and then get a bag. The combo deal at www.worldfootbag.com is a good deal.

Aren't they the exact same thing?

I though Daryl Genz and Jim Penske (and maybe someone else) stitched them all.

Besides if you buy from freedom footbags your supporting them directly :D
