I`ve decided that I will add my own wisdom to Sam`s wisdom in this thread. We will be like the Voltron of widsom.

Here`s a start:

If you have a mirror in your shower, and you need to use it to shave or cut your hair or anything, smear soapy water on it. This will prevent it from fogging up, and you can see pretty well.

If you ever get lost in a big city, only ask policemen for directions. In NYC, if you ask somebody on the street, your chances for good directions are slim. Here are several possible problems.

1. The person you just asked is a paranoid tourist. In order not to reveal that they are a tourist, they will make up directions, which aren`t accurate.

2. The person you just asked is a New Yorker, but is embarassed by the fact they don`t know how to get to wherever you want to go. They will make up directions to save face.

3. The person you just asked doesn`t speak English.

4. Now that you have revealed yourself to be lost and a tourist, you will be mugged.

You`d seriously be amazed how many people give directions without knowing where the place is. Just ask a cop and save yourself some hassle.

When making pasta, throw some salt in the water before you boil it. This will make the water boil faster. It also flavors the pasta a bit. On a similar note, you may want to add a touch of olive oil once you put the pasta in the pot. This ensures the pasta doesn`t stick together, and also adds nice flavor.

As a addict to the food netwark and the fact that I stayed awake during science class, sadly not english class, I know that salt makes water boil at a HIGHER temperature. I also seem to remember that olive oil thing being a myth but I can't be sure. Samuri: to learn to cook well watch "good eats", but I guess you'd need cable.

Adding salt RAISES the boiling temperature of water.

But the olive oil thing is legit. It really helps keep the pasta from sticking to each other.

I only took pix 1 day on the road trip LOL! It was the morning that we left from Las Vegas so I was a wreck. Unshaven - clean technically - dirty clothes though. hehe. Puffy face from lack of sleep. That's okay though. Oh and some pix of my cat before I left. Oh oh and my NEW ROOM :)!Enjoy:
