Did anybody on the US East Coast see Kanye rip Bush?

Post by C-Fan »

I just read an article in the NYTimes, which says there was some fundraising concert event on live TV, where Kanye deviated from the script and went off on Bush, saying things like: "he doesn`t care about Black people" and so on. It got censored on the West Coast, but not on the East. Anybody see this? Surely there must be vid of this on the internet somewhere...

Here`s a link to the basic story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainmen ... 210808.stm

Shit, nice find on that photo.

Here`s a more complete transcript of the evening, presented a bit more humorously.

i saw it! it was....hilarious. the other guy (some white actor or something? excuse my ignorance) was totally sticking to his script, and kanye goes totally off with shit like: 'they are only showing the black people looting," and all the stuff about president bush. and the white guy is just saying his lines...and then staring at kanye...oh man.

I was at work when it was on and asked that we had the event on our big screens. I was even watching when they were on, but... my boss didn't have the sound on. :? It would have mortified my bosses and our customers too.

Good for West. You know when 911 happened, more firefighters died trying to get people out of the building than were even sent to New Orleans in the wake of Katrina.

I am not one to place blame (yeah the fuck I am) but this time I feel that racism did play a part. It was like the whole damn world dropped the ball, stood there and watched as people flandered around.

Kinda like a fish outta water. The people just flopping around helpless.

Then 5 days later you "Start" to see some relief. Goddamn, glad it wasn't an invasion. Christ we'd all be dead now.

I can understand the world being pissed at us for Iraq/Afganistan. I trully understand that. So it didn't surprise me to see the world pause for a moment. Kinda like pay back for being little bitches.

But our own fucking govt. stood there and did absolutely nothing. The whole time this Brown guy is sitting all dry and snug in his New York office (guessing) saying I haven't heard of any looting. I havn't heard of any mass deaths. Our guys are doing a great job.

Then you learn from people on the ground all the horrible things occuring. People just falling over dead from lack of food and water or medication. All the while this Brown guy is going - I haven't heard of any dead people. Very few if any.

This was all on day 1 and 2. Still 2 days from any real relief.

And then all the shooting. What the Fuck is that all about? What purpose does it serve to fire at help.

In a combat situation the helicopters would have tried to land anyways. People are hurt and/or dying in our own land, and our own guys won't land the copters for fear of being shot down. Jesus Christ.

I could go on and on about how poorly the US responded. And I feel that had this been an incident in New Port Beach California, or even Washington DC, you would have seen a much faster and prepared response.
