I uh.... I played footbag today. I probably shouldn't have. I was trying to take it easy but there were a few moves I felt in my back....I don't know.

legbeater bsos super clean, probably the cleanest i've ever hit it
p whirl
weaving>diving>ducking clipper
a few flip pixie sets
whirl, drifter bsos

nothing epic but obviously im not playing too hard coming off of an injury. felt really good to play because I didn't forget how to do everything, but definitely still injured. I'm probably going to compete and shred at the tournament regardless of how I'm feeling, then recuuperate as long as is needed after the tourney. three more days, holy jumpin jesus.

the event was fucking awesome. I wasn't happy with how i competed but at least i got 2nd in shred 30. in sick 1 i hit tapdown, then missed ps whirl and missed ducking pdx drifter. in sick 3 i hit pdx drifter>pdx mirage>ducking butterfly.

epic long sessions friday, saturday, sunday, and monday morning wakeup session with jim lon nick and darryl. complete insanity. most i've ever shredded in 4 days.

symp atomic legover and witch doctor in the same run on sunday
phoenix for the first time friday, pixie ducking mirage for the first time on sunday.
ps whirl 3 times on saturday after MISSING it in the comp.
tapping drifter for the first time on sunday as well.

those are all the big new moves, i hit some really good runs for me during the last 4 days and a shitload of fun. shredding with jim, lon, darryl, ken, nick, mike, ted, chad, chris, sunny, dustin, gray, jeremy, red, dat, nate, and others was awesome. Jim annhilated everyone in the competitions (Lon was close though in shred 30 and hit spinning mobius,) fucking crazy to watch them shred; Jim hit gauntlet then alpine whirlygig in the sick 1.. loooots of insane shred, I have about 4 hours worth of raw footage I'll be editing for the next few weeks probably. should be fun, expect competition result footage pretty soon.

:D

Hey Fletch. I just wanted to say it was good meeting you. I'm glad we got to play some Scrabble and shred, and I was particularly happy that you shredded so well in a circle with me (the circle with Ted and the Lakers bag on Sunday). I'm glad you played a lot despite being injured.

Was this your first event?

Weird, I perceived it pretty differently. I would say Jim blew everybody out of the water in Sick3 (he hit at least 2 combos that were better than anybody elses), had a solid win in Shred30, and that Sick 1 was close. I wouldn't really say Lon was close in Shred30; Jim beat him by over 15 points, which is a decent margin in that event. 2nd and 3rd place were pretty close though, as Lon beat me out by less than 4 points. As for Sick 1, I wouldn't have been shocked if Lon's spinning mobius or Nick's flipwalk had beaten out Jim's gauntlet.

In any case, it was pretty cool (and rare, in my experience) that almost everybody competed so well in Open. Nobody really spaunched Shred30, the podium scores were all over 200, I think all the Open competitors hit at least one sick 3, and I think everybody also hit at least one Sick 1. Can't wait to see the vids when they come out.

Thanks Ken I had an awesome time shredding with you too. You're probably right about the events, that sick 1 was closer than the others. Everyone did compete really well it was awesome watching EVERYONE in the open categories and even intermediate too. It was my first time competing, it was fun but I felt I could have done much better in everything. In any case this last weekend was one of the best times of my life. :D

i was going to go do my laundry...and i put on some footbag shorts. and then i saw my footbags.... so i put some glue on my yellow and purple bag, and picked up my new cherry bag. messed around with pixie a few times then my legs started drilling all this stuff, when all i wanted to do was laundry.

barefoot,
drilled magellan, plo, smear, terrage LOTS i noticed my flipside is more successful coming off of a legover... going to try it with shoes tomorrow some.

hit eggbeater 3 times in a row really clean low beautiful sets. :D
pixie diving set for the first time, hit pixie ducking mirage in mah toes.

i stopped playing before i was done so that i can play harder tomorrow with the crew. :D

played with nick landes, jeremy, emily, ej, steve, chad, aj, dat.

symposium whirl and swirl in a run :D
whirl>osis>ducking clipper bsos :D
spinning pdx mirage first times both sides :D
atomsmasher>dlo>drifter>whirl>clipper>drifter>drifter :D
atomsmasher>atomsmasher
pdx drifter bsos
pdx torque clean, first one since my back injury.

speaking of which, it feels like shit. im taking 2 weeks off and seeing a chiropractor when i get home.

*edit*
wanted to include a few more things, weaving>diving>ducking clip on ny weak side, zulu clipper on my weak side, some tiltless runs around 20-25 (i would have hit more but jeremy said something funny.)
p whirl>p whirl, p drifter>p drifter (kinda feel lame listing that since i've hit it before plenty)
Also practiced pixie sets a little bit (still so goddamn frustrating.)
hit ONE clean flip set i was happy with, hit pixie ss mirage and pixie opp mirage, plo and magellan strongside but still very very inconsistent, lots of bag retrieval time.)

Very good way to start my summer. Im kind of sad I'm going to be leaving Santa Cruz for 2 months... for one reason inparticular.

still..

SUMMER 06' WOOOOOOO

excited to see my friends and fam. seems like forever since i was home.

this will be the summer of personal enrichment : Beach, Footbag, Jiu Jitsu. (Not in that order.)

one more day then 6 hour car ride to redondo. Probably won't post for a while since I won't be playing. ....K BYE.

Uhm so...... my lack of self-control prevailed again, i kicked tonight with sam and ben duffle, a new player in the area that can hit 4-5 tiltless contacts. sam hit some fatty stuff, his guiltless runs are getting longer and better. He came close to pixie torque.

i hit drifterX8 new record :D
a really really really long tiltless run, but i wasn't counting :( it was really fatty with osis butterflies ducking clippers and lots of unique 2's.. i'm guessing around 35-40 contacts.

a lot of sweet ducking stuff,(ducking clip>ducking clip, diving butterfly bsos and ducking pdx mirage in one run, ducking pdx mirage, ducking far legover, and diving mirage in a run, other stuff.)

i got compliments on my ducking from sam and ben.. and everyone gave me props on my style too. :D I was flowin with the ducks and dives.
atomic legover bsos in a decent run, didn't try much atomic or anything big because of my back...

eh i dunno, other stuff but, long story short: I can't play footbag tomorrow. I shouldn't play footbag this week. My legs are hurting too now, which may FORCE me not to play, which would be nice. Maybe I should just hit myself in the shin with a hammer so I won't be able to play until my back heals. Hopefully the shin will heal right around the time my back does...Or I could not play?

Oh yeah, and I went skimboarding today too ... that's probably why my legs are bumping now. Summer is too much fun for my own good. I think I'm going to sit around, maybe stitch, hang out with my mom, and eat a lot tomorrow. :D
