Is routine for judges or for public?

Imagine the situation which we can met often during the competitions. Player is on the stage and on his one side he has the judges and on the other the public. Should he leave the judges behind his back, don't worry about them and play for crowd or should he stand in front of the judges and show them all. When you play for the public you'll probably get more aplaus because they see that all what you are doing is prepared for them. But the judges may have a problem, because it's possible they missed some tricks or something. When you play for the judges they see all you prepared and that means maybe a little better result. But crowd thinks you suck because they come to the competition not to look at your ass. Please vote and tell me what do you think.

That's why judges should be between you and the crowd...I dunno how competitive players are these days, but routines should always be for the public just like they used to be. And judges should also judge how player performs for the crowd.

i have voted "for judges", cuz when you're smiling to judges, you always get more points, but it's only my opionion.

Idealy, I would think, the judges should have the same view as the audience. So there is the performer, then a row of judges, and then the audience behind the judges.

I take back my vote for judges, I didn't read the post before voting, thought it meant who should judge routines, people or judges. The show is for the people.

It depends - is footbag a sport or not?

If it's a sport then routines should be for judges and when I have competed I have always made my routines for judges and not for the crowd. That said when I perform for crowds I have completely different routines.

the question was if a player should face the judges during a routine or face the crowd (if there is one). the answer is simple: always face the crowd!!!
if the judges can't see you properly then someone has made a serious mistake when placing the judges. in any performing sport, the competitors play for the audience. the judges are just there to judge how well they played for the audience and if the technical criteria have been met.

this is not really an issue to vote upon in my opinion.

The judges really shouldn't need the best seats in the house to tell if the play was good.

The player should not face the judges, they are there to judge how well the player performs for the crowd.
