I'll post back with my own experiences, but I have to go do a paid footbag event right now, which in retrospect is what made me think to post this topic in the first place.
Paid to Play
Paid to Play
I'm sure many up-and-coming players are dying to find ways to get paid for their skills. I know at least a few members of the community have in the past or currently get paid to play footbag in some capacity, and was wondering if anyone would like to share their stories for the benefit of people who aspire to do the same.

I've been paid in cash for one demo (thanks Zanz.)
Did a demo for a couple schools where they gave me and the club a bunch of free stuff afterwards.
CIC has flown in a few people to come to our events.

The Vegas crew got paid doing a presentation to some little kids at a church. It was awesome. Evan Gatesman and I just got offered to be sponsored when we were playing at a concert this Saturday. Hopefully we can get in on that.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Hackrifice used to do the ski and snowboard show annually, BUT last time we never got payed, the check bounced and we couldn't get ahold of the promoter. since then we haven't been doing as many payed demos. We did World of Wheels last year or the year before, but it think it was mostly just for exposure and free stuff, haven't done anything big since then.
i do the half time shows at my university basketball games. i was playing in the gym at uni and was approached by the head of athletics who asked me to do a demo. I'm pretty at ease infront of crowds, so i hyped them up, did my schtick and blew their minds, and he asked me back to do more demos. It usually lasts 3 minutes and i make $50 a pop, and all the money i put towards paying off our club's debts/ towards the cost of our tournament.
edit: have also made some money busking. in rome i played in a piazza and made like 20 euros in a coulpe hours. and once here i just tossed my hat on the ground but it landed upside down and peole just tossed money into it, which was pretty cool.
