Ive only watched one minute so far and it put me in a good mood.

lol I dont even know what to say! I just got to the flicking part! The replay of bedwetter> syp paradon was cool. And the guy after that clapping is pretty entertaining. And I cannot tell what they are talking about at the end here but ...i dont need to.

edit: just checked up on your last page. How is the knee doing? I stopped playing tonight cause of my knee. Triple pixie, damn. That is a nice move. I hadnt thought of it as a triple pixie but once as a triage with another dex...same thing:) TATW is awesome too.

YEAH and NYJ sound like fun, but I still don't even have my tickets for home for winter break bought. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet on me attending either. But you never know.

Got in a shred last night with Luis. My last "session" was 4 days ago, but I only played like 10 minutes. My last legit session was 8 days ago, and the session before that was 10 days before then. So I've played twice in 18 days, which must be a new record for non-injured time off from the sport. School really sucks sometimes.

I was stoked to play with Luis again. We hadn't played together since sometime before Thanksgiving break. I don't even remember when. He said he hadn't played since then, and he was pretty rusty. I relied on adrenaline to get me through the session. I was just happy to play again, despite my own rust. Luis stitched me a bag as a farewell present, and I decided it would only be fitting if we inaugurated it by playing with it during the session.

Highlights:

*alpine smog, new trick. Flip fog in the seal, but incredibly I missed strong fog when going for the 'sos.

*alpine smoke, with the other foot vertigo in the seal. Had a good look at saucing the vertigo, but again no dice.
*void, new trick, both sides. The seal on one side was really crappy, but I'll take it for now.
*spinning whirl bsos. Hard and rare for me.
*whirl-rev whirl-rev swirl both sides. Cute.
*psw-whirl repeat also felt really cute.

I also hit trixie in shoes, but I'm 90% sure it was "the." In general G-Units don't feel that bulky to me, but on TATW I notice the bulk a lot more. I wonder if I would be able to hit TATW in lavers more easily than in G6s... bit of a moot point, since I no longer own any lavers. But I wonder.

Have you tried shredding in quantums? I don't think I'll ever turn back to the goonits.

I've played what, twice in three weeks. That makes me angry. All I do these days is write papers, take finals, and stress out. Not happy.

Looking into flights, and should buy some tonight. Arizona players: tentatively looks like I'll get to Tucson around the 22nd of December, and leave on January 17th. I want to get in at least one session. I figure I'll be real rusty at first, but I plan on playing a lot over break.

Oh, and there's an outside chance I can make NYJ now. I'll burn that bridge when I get there.

School is done for this semester!

I still have to do internship searching, and pack for home, but I definitely feel like a huge load has been lifted. I hope to start playing footbag again, and I'll probably finish my xmas calendar video tomorrow.

Life has definitely taken a turn for the better now that school is done. My god it was crushing me. My X-Mas calendar video is encoding as we speak, so hopefully that means I can send it to Zeb by tonight. I didn't coordinate the shred to the music, so the editing won't blow anybody away, but I picked a fun song and I hit a few weird tricks in the vid, so hopefully people will enjoy it. I'm happy I learned to edit with Adobe Premiere. Just one more skill I picked up at grad school.

Got in a solo session last night at the gym. I hit a bunch of highlights, but even if I hadn't, it would have been just as much fun, because I FUCKING PLAYED! I still can't believe how little footbag I played over the last 3 weeks. That can't be healthy. Despite my long layoff from footbag, my body felt pretty spry and my muscles still remembered how to do stuff.

I leave Ithaca and Cornell tomorrow, then go to Arizona to spend my winter break before moving to DC. Things are moving real fast these days, as I am applying to internships, packing, saying goodbyes, and just generally running around trying to get things done.

Due to all the busy-ness these days, I haven't had time to play any footbag. I don't feel too bad about it, since I'll have a lot of time to play when I get to Arizona. I'm looking forward to getting back into the flow of playing.

I participated in the modified x-mas video calendar again this year. I ended up being pretty happy with the video I made. At the start of the semester I figured I wouldn't have time to make a video, since the media lab equipment on campus was so unreliable. Instead I decided to shoot a bunch of tapes, pick an editor who I liked, and get them to make an actually good video. This way I'd only waste time on shooting, and not on editing. I ended up sending a lot of good footage to Rory, and I'm real excited to see the final product. After I had sent Rory the last of the footage, I realized I still had some leftover footage that I already captured. Rather than throw that out, I figured I'd film one more session, and then make a shitty video out of it. It was all tripod footage of solo sessions, and I didn't put in any time into making the images match with the music. Still, it ended up being a pretty fun video. I think the song goes with the whole raw, imperfect feel of the video.

Hey ken, just a quick word to tell you that I really liked your video.
Great combos and tricks, nice music and editing (and good lighting!!)

Special mention goes to the sidewalk rev. swirl... that's incredibly difficult.

Hey Bob: no need for your edit, I didn't take it wrong or anything. I think I know what you mean, and there are some players whose styles I love where I have the same phenomenon.

Made it safely back to Arizona. Only now, with my suitcases open and my clothes going back in the closet do I really feel like last semester is over. This last month saw me play less footbag than any other month I can remember for the last 7 years. Between finals, moving, applying for internships, etc. something had to give, and sadly enough that was footbag. I haven't played in the last 9 days, but now that I'm back in AZ, I hope to play everyday to make up for it.

Even though life was crazy for while there and I missed footbag, I seem to have got some good results out of the whole deal, which makes me feel less bad about sacrificing footbag.

Life Highlights:

*applied for a resident counselor position with my Cornell in DC program. Did well on the interview, which means I got the job, which means I have free housing in DC next semester (this saves me $4000)
*landed a paid internship for next semester.
*got my grades: 3 A minuses and 1 A. My second best semester at grad school.
*got RT tickets from NY to AZ for $400.
*moved all my stuff out from school and got it home without breaking my back.

Phoenix crew, get in touch with me about setting up a session. I'm free between now and January 12th, and I don't leave until January 17th.

New page feels very appropriate. School is done, I'm on break in Arizona for a few weeks, and I've started playing footbag again. After only playing like 4 times in a month, my plan is to play everyday until I go back to school. I got off to a good start today.

The weather was excellent today. I played outdoors in shorts and tshirt, and didn't feel cold at all. I probably could have played in an NBA jersey. It was such a pleasure to play outdoors again. It was also great to be able to play as long as I wanted to, without worrying about "getting back to studying" or anything like that.

In another fresh start, today was my first session with a new bag from an anonymous, generous donor. I also used my Luis bag for 30% of the session. The Luis bag is a good bit bigger than the other bag, but I was able to play well with both. I'm excited to have new bags to play with.

I warmed up pretty slowly. I had a lot of fun playing with "whiz" (whirling inside stall. I was doing stuff like: whirl-whirl-whizz-whirl-pdx whizz-whirl-whizz, etc. It's a fun mix-up. I also toyed around a lot with blazing tricks and flip rev swirls, and made some encouraging progress on both. Flip swirls in general seem to be improving. I noticed something weird too: my strong whirling set and my strong symp whirling set use different legs.

On to highlights:

*pdx drifter-bl. whirl repeat-PSW-PSW
*bl. whirl-pdx drifter repeat-tomahawk. Sauced the hawk in the seal, and nearly got PSW bsos in there too.

I also scored some nice gifts from the folks, including a new digital camera. This one has a video function, so I'll play around with it and see what the quality is like. If it doesn't suck, I'd love to film some sick 1s or 3s and put them in my blog.
