i need to get my shit together.
this playing every so often is really sucky. once i finish my exams on the 10th of december i'm going to put together a rigid study/footbag/work/social plan for the next term and organize my time better. K-Crow said a while back that you need to make time to play footbag, and it really stuck with me. however, i'm fairly time restricted, as ontop of going to school i work 30 hours a week to pay the bills, and i need to spend time with my galpal to keep my sanity, so footbag has really taken a back seat, but i want that to change. i think if i plan out times to blanace my life i'll be much happier all round.

saw your blog title. are you making 2-step beats now?

your revelations about pdx torque and stepping whirl gave me insight into my own game. I struggle with flip stepping ss whirl but feel like i have strong stepping and whirls. I also don't bring my knee in enough it appears. Thanks!

Hey Andrew,

I agree with the knee placement thing on stepping whirls, it's all about getting back in position for a proper whirl.

And in response to you response to me, I agree with you that the ones that stay around are the ones that seek the footbag source out on their own. However what is still required at that point is for at least one person to step up to find a good place to play for all these people keen to play footbag!

I think that in itself is like.. another level of participation. And really, I won't be in the town I am presently in forever, we will see what they ultimately do with the momentum I have given them.

Also, I fully recognize that my footbag game has suffered for my taking on the role of coach guy. But am I supposed to just watch them flounder and do things wrong?

Hmm, maybe I should post this in the thread instead. haha

I will post it both places.

Is the fixed gear still parked for the season? Don't you miss the sweet physics?? :P

I was telling Manna on Saturday how we used to have a set location and time every single week for YEARS and it was easy for newbs to just show up unannounced. I think we should try to do this when the weather gets nicer (not necessarily a fancy-pants community club gym).

I also looked into what it would take to form "Footbag Manitoba" (a Provincial Sport Organization, eligible for LOTS of funding (Sport Manitoba grants 4 million $ in funding for PSOs every year...)). It basically just requires a handful of people who are REALLY REALLY dedicated and have the time to put into a ton of stuff. There is a guide that tells you exactly what to do for everything. It seems like something we could talk about in the future.

My biggest concern with this is that if it took off, I wouldn't want kids to have to PAY to play footbag. I wanted to go play table tennis, and join the MTTA, but it would cost me $50 just to have access to a table for, like, 3 hours max, 10 times total (not including having to buy my own racquet(?) and balls).

bmore? I live 20 min from bmore.

Emily's Mtv news thing was weird cuz it was british and I haven't watched tv in like 5 years at least and I don't even know if Mtv News even exists anymore here in America.

err....DnB is hot. I through a dope ass DnB party once. J. Smooth from Philly was the headlining dj for the party. Also Bmore had an INSANE scene for DnB at one time. I used to go to Fever as a lad. East coast US has always had a pretty sweet DnB scene.

peace.

Glad I could influence someone who has influenced me so much, both in footbag and life.

Those are some super sick links! Props! and I laughed at your Shredzilla ownage in the last post.

Did I read somewhere that Manna thinks stepping whirls are easier than whirls? that's awesome!

still making tracks? Oliver Klozof represent!!
