...I cant believe its only 7:20. My body feels thrashed. I just had my first solo session in a while. It only lasted 2 hours....

Idk what it is but my endurance seems to be weakening. Maybe it was just that I didnt eat enough before playing or maybe it was the fact that I didnt consume any water throughout the session. Im hoping its either of those two reasons because Ive been working out recently more than I ever have previously in my life. That can only increase ones endurance, right? Meh, whatever.

So yeah, solo session, worked: spinning and ducking.
-spinning clip and gyro clip bsos
-ducking clip x12
-diving clip>infinity (rpt)
-diving clip>osis (rpt)
-gyro clip>spinning clip bs
-spinning clip>drifter (rpt) (could only managed 3 contacts  )
-diving clip>spinning clip bs (maybe bsos? cant remember, prolly not)
-stepping ss illusion bsos

Ha, yea that last one's a lil outta place, but whatev. Yeah, so I really want a reliable ducking and spinning game but my spinning is still really inconsistent. Sometimes it just clicks but most of the time it takes a looooot of work. This is especially true for flip spinning.

Ugh, my game feels so blah right now. I wish my ankle would just go back to 100%, its so dam close but there's still that slight twinge of pain every dam time I crank it. Bleh, whatever, guess I'll try waiting another week before playing... but will most likely be on modified too much and not be able to resist the urge to play.

Oh yea, Pete-fuck you.

Ian-Awesome dude, lookin forward to it!

Peace

dude I just gotta say. I've always thought you had a really solid game. You learned stepping pretty fast (and very bothsided) and your toe game is absurd (in that good sort of way). And in my head one time I said "man this kid should learn spinning and gyro." and bam. Little by little I'm hearing and seeing you do it.

soooooo PROPS!

quick challenge = hit eggbeater bsos (if you haven't already) and then do two in a row. And THEN do ss eggbeater bs. It's a fun trick that I forced myself through during my own little solo sesh tonight.

Haha, I wouldnt say my game's solid, but I guess I got some diversity. Either way, thanx man, means a lot.

So had a 2.5 hr solo sesh. Twas okay. I meant to post earlier but got distracted by phone calls, food and music. Triple threat! Anywho, I worked a lot... hmm, h/o lets tarantino this.

So I take a shower round 2 (cuz class starts at 9:50 and I utilize every minute of sleep I can get) and in the shower I get this feeling that my legs desire pixies today. I get dressed, listen to some rancid, air shred, then suddenly get extremely tired and take a nap instead. So my roommate gets back round 4:50 and I get up. Im still feeling extremely tired and contemplating not even playing. Nay, I must play. I put on some more Rancid, get the adrenalin flowing and in a matter of 20 minutes I'm setting up a boombox and taking my hoodie and pants off in the tunnels below Richard Hall.

I knew I wanted to drill pixies but my legs just weren't feeling it. I did a lil ducking and spinning and in time I got to pixies. So uh, yea, "highlights"

-butter>rev swirl>infinity>rev swirl>ducking clipper b2b>drop (this was first try so I was just psyched to hit rev swirl bsos)
-rev swirl>ripwalk bs
-ripwalk>rev swirl bs
-pixie pickup>paste (rpt) (first try :D )
-magellan>pixie pickup>smear>smudge bs
-magellan>plo (rpt) (did this too many times)
-pixie ss mirage>plo>plo>pixie ss mirage>smear>plo>smear>drop
-plo b2b, infinity b2b, ripwalk b2b, ducking clipper b2b all one string (almost had drifter b2b in there as well)
-spinning ducking clipper (still kinda sketchy but starting to understand it better)

I managed all that stuff within the first hour, after that I was just drained but couldnt resist still playing. I footed flip alpine plo at least 10 times. I hope I remember to drill more ducking stuff next session, Id love to have assassin bsos one day.

Word, so uh, I guess thats it.

Haha, yes brick and from indeed.

So I had a session for the first time in... hmm like a week or somethin? Idk. Anywho my ankle stopped hurting.... in the way that it was hurting before. Its better but still a little messed. Aw well. So yea, session went well, hit a bunch of challenges that you can check out in my updated challenge thread if you feel like it, if not thats chill. It seems like my flip gyro only works if I start from strong gyro clipper>flip gyro whatever. Gotta fix that up a lil.

Hmmm, I upped my ripwalk record from 3 to 6. I tihnk I can do more, I just did those 6 at the end of the session when I was winded. But then again Idk ho slurry they were. :? Hopefully tomorrow someone can give me a good idea as to whether or not they look good. Still dont know if Im going to GRASS, hopefully so. Well Im off to enjoy my Friday night, I'll most likely end up at Cappy's and you know what that means.

Solo session. 1 hour 45 minutes. Twas good.

Hit:
-diving clipper>ducking clipper (rpt) x14 contacts
-butter>pdx mirage (rpt) x21 contacts (meh)
-ripwalk>rev swirl bsos (first try, I was really happy about that one)
-spinning clipper>drifter (rpt)
-plo>drifter bsos

Idk. I did a lot of other stuff. Lots of gyro and spinning stuff. I'm still trying really hard to get my flip spinning/gyro up to par with my strong. Can't wait for this weekend. Ian's coming up so hopefully we'll actually get a BSC session. Haven't had a session in a few weeks.

:x Every time I post in my blog now I look at my previous post and it seems like I havent progressed at all. Ugh. Ive probably had 3 sessions total since my last post and if I managed to hit any of my highlights from that previous post Id be just as delighted. Whatever, I really hope to get some good practice in during this week off from skool.

So anyway, played with NYFA on Saturday. It was a lot of fun getting to see some guys again and meeting some new players. Drew seems like he's gotten a ton better since the NYC jam. bedwetter bsos, pdx torque, soooo close to toe ss whirl>dlo>rpt. Lots of good stuff from him. It was good to play with Waylon this time. It looks like his ankle's still giving him a lot of trouble but its really cool of him to still come out to sessions and play. I liked that Ted still played a bit. It was cool to see a guy of his "stature" shred. He managed clipper pickup bsos and a couple osii. :o

Hmm, lets see, Bruce Dole was there too and I really enjoyed his game. Lots of wierd pincher tricks. Spinning pincher, blind behind the back pincher (that was one of my favorites 8)) and a bunch of other cool stuff. Real old skool player. Then there was another older dude named Josh. I dont think I got his last name but he had a pretty old skool style too. Twas cool watchin him bust tricks. For a while him and Ted praticed some net and stuff and Ted asked me if I wanted to try it but I told him Id try it later and ended up forgetting all about it. Aw well, net can wait until my post freestyle years in footbag.

At one point Joh and Drew got into a lil argument about something that lead to BAP and Josh said that back in his day all someone had to do to make BAP was hit 10 tripless and they were in. He said he was able to hit 13 but when the decision came, it was between him and Chad D. Josh argued that they picked Chad just cuz he was a west coast player, which isnt a bad contention. Who knows if things had gone the other way instead of "Big Add Chad" We might have "Motor Mouth Josh". Josh was a funny guy. When he mentioned his 13 tripless Drew tried to break it but could ony manage 6 or 7.

All in all, it was a lot of fun. I wish I could have played better though. That was my first session in prolly 2 weeks, other than the one 2 days prior. The thing that sux though is that I played too long the two days prior to New Yorlk and had these unbearable shin splints the whole session in NYC. Aw well. I actually might end up going back for a day next weekend cuz I think itd be cheaper to take a bus from NYC to Boston rather than a train from Rochester. Im not gonna post any highlights from my session just now cuz I dont wanna see what I struggled to hit and not be ale to hit it again when asked about it. I'll just say I completed level 8 of triforce drill and hit a bunch of osii and drifters.

Peace.

so you have a break now? Strange.

13 tripless to get into BAP? Haha. That's great.

oh and here's my advice. Get a wii, play more footbag, and don't do homework. Homework is for squares.

and when you get the wii, I'll come down and visit you and never leave because homework is for squares and all solo shreds are not nearly as fun as playing with you. and I love the wii and can't wait til smash bros comes out but until then we can do mario galaxy

Woke up at 2:30. Got lunch with some friends. Got back to my dorm about 3:50, and was out the door at 4:00 with short under my pants, lavers on my feet, and a boombox in hand. Oh yes, tis the time. 8)

First off, I just want to thank Paul Agostinelli so much for helping me with my paradox drifters, I never thought I'd be hitting this move at this stage in my game.

So yeah, worked drifters a lot in todays session. It started off really crappy when I told myself Id hit 20 bops before anything else and was averaging like 6 or 7 contatcs. :? Lame. So I figured, "Ok, I guess I should drill the bare basics" and worked some tiltless. I started with legover x 5>ss legover x5>rpt and droppe on the 15th contact. Grrr. So I moved onto mirages and heres what happened:
(mirage x5>ss mirage x5>rpt)>(pickup x5>ss pickup x5>rpt)>(legover x5>ss legover x 5>rpt)>illusion>drop
...Yeah, I was ecstatic with this. So then I moved back to bops and hit 20 contacts on my 3rd or 4th attempt, so that felt good. My consistency is still pretty shot since the end of break but its getting better. But yeah, Im mainly posting bc of
-toe drifter>pdx drifter bs
-toe drifter>drifter>pdx mirage>rpt
-toe drifter>drifter>pdx drifter>drifter>string>flip toe drifter>drifter>something other than pdx drifter
-smoke>pdx drifter (still havent hit flip smoke)

Those were the prime highlights of the session. I only planned on playing for an hr to and hr and a half, but ended up going for 2, and then Fran called and said he's just getting back and was wondering if I wanted to kick any longer....Uhhhhh, yea sure. SO Fran came and we kicked and lets just say when we finally parted ways my phone read, 8:20. They really need a smiley that conveys tiredness. It was fun kickin with Fran though, he hit some cool tricks and footed zoidberg a bunch of times. It was sweet seein him hit stomping dlo too.

Wow, this was a pretty long post, didnt mean for it to be. Aw well. Kickin with Bob Riefer next weekend so that should be fun, hopefuly more of BSC is able to attend. We'll see.

Peace

Edit: Aw man, I almost forgot! My Waylon bag finally got a hole!!!!! :( :( This bag was so freakin choice, I highly recommend his bags, so nice. I plan to try and get another from him at GRASS.

Hey Ryan!
Do it Ian, I want to see you beating me in a game of SHRED.
It's chill Pete, thanx for the challenges, Ive hit both gyro ones, but I'll work on the rest next session.

So I didnt play today, but I have to write this essay for college writing about "imagined communities" and "contact zones" and I'd been putting it off til today. Im ot done but I figured Id post what I have so for here, just cuz its footbag related, haha.

Imagine yourself walking down the street, when suddenly, in the distance, you see someone doing something unfamiliar. It looks as though he’s doing some type of weird tribal dance, but as you get closer you can see a small ball going all around his body. Finally, you’re close enough to see that he is actually controlling a small bag, presumably filled with beads, by kicking it up with his feet. You realize, “Oh, he’s just playing hackey sackâ€

Loved the essay doug. you really do the sport justice. I only wish I could be in it as deeply as you are now. Current stitching status, 10 legit bags ready to go for grass, maybe another 3-5 on the way by the time GRASS rolls around. I think I'm getting like a stress fracture in my leg, so basically all the time I would be spending playing footbag has gone into my stitching and has done so much for my bags. You won't recognize them except for the numbers and the colors dude, I guarantee it. I'll send you a picture as soon as I figure I'm done.

Good session today....OUTSIDE! YEAH!

So yeah, I figured Id play outside today just cuz it was finally fairly warm out. The wind kinda sucked but it was still totally worth it. Twas an odd session, I was physically capable but everytime I looked down at the bag my eyes grew heavy and I jsut wanted to go to sleep. :? Whatev.

Played for a good 2 hours, then Fran showed up at the end of the session... again. So again I played with Fran for another two hours. Haha, Im really going about this whole footbag practice thing the wrong way with these 4 hour sessions. Aw well, Id rather have fun playing with someone else than play by myself only to get better. But yeah, not gonna post any highlights just wanted to chronicle the first outdoor session of 2008 basically.

Oh, I will say I footed that one challenge from Pete though, toe dirfter>barrage>rpt. Idk how I missed the last barrage, everything was so clean and precise. Aw well, just motivation to continue to pursue said challenge.

Peace

EDIT: Yo thanx dude, but its still blah. Thats ridiculous about the bags, I cant believe you already have 10 more! 8O And youre gonna try and pump out even more before GRASS, thats down right nasty dude.
