I was just trying to do the midtime swirl today! I can only do downtime swirls and poorly at that. Do you set the bag from the same spot and roll it for midterm reverse swirl? Actually, I'm not sure that's possible unless you can point your heel towards the ground. That would be weird.

Observing Matt's previous videos, I learned swirl from him. The best thing about learning with that sweet spot, is that you can just "feel" how the swirl should go. So, mid-string, after you have learned how easy it is with the sweet spot, you can gradually do it from wherever you normally catch the clipper. Just recognize that you set the bag from that area, and not along the instep, and then you only have to pay attention to getting consistency with the roll.

Hey, good idea for a video Matt!

However, I have one problem, and I'm sure that it has been brought up before. I don't like the idea of rolling the bag off of your foot. Perhaps it's personal preference, but I feel a lot better when I get a nice clean unrolling set, and not with just swirls, but with every set.

On the other hand, I think that, as with all tricks, you won't hit it clean at first, however you (a good player anyway) learn to clean it up as you progress.

ramil, try to do the swirl movement many times with no footbag. THEN try with the footbag. that might help. some people call that "dexercising".
