Alternative materials

Post by WyrmFyre »

Hullooooo!

Financially speaking im prolly on the bottom rung of lifes ladder at the moment, so im looking for some suggestions for some alternative sack materials one might find in charity shops or similar.

Ive experimented with some old jeans with relative success, and they make great balls for circle kicking, but not so good for stalling. Ive tried thinner seams but the denim starts to fray inside the sack ater a while and the seams begin to come apart. Ive noticed some people have started with sewing old tshirts, but i guess thats for practice rather than practicality.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! And Ill get some pics of my efforts posted soon :D

Thank you very much Matt but i live in the UK, i darent think what the postage would be like :D

Just had another go at googling, and found this site http://www.christiebears.co.uk/acatalog/Ultrasuede.html selling Ultrasuede in various colours at well under half the price i was first looking at, so perhaps this will be more affordable than I first thought!

Heres a peek at what ive been making lately, this must be the 6th or 7th go by now

hey, you should be carefull with those bear sites, because they usually use a thicker version of the ultrasuede material. but give it a go. its not that expensive to order a few pieces and try them. if its good your good to go! and dont forget to tell the rest of us european stichers about it! ;)
